I say it the incorrect way. Always have.

They're both wrong. It's coke...all of it, CocaCola, Pepsi, Mt. Dew, Sprite, Sunkist, it's all coke.

Soda is what you use in baking and to make your fridge smell better

I've heard of a lot of people using coke as the general soda term but I've never heard of soda put that way. lol

Not sure if it's just an Ohio thing or something. And I'm notorious for saying y'all and yins (A PA thing)

I'm not sure if I'm in the pee-cahn or peh-cahn category. To me they aren't really that different so I think it might depend on my mood, haha.

Soda is the common term in CA. My grandma is originally from Nebraska so I've heard her call it pop even though she's lived in CA since she was a young girl. But everyone else calls it soda.

I've never heard anyone call all soda coke. That's just weird. Coke is a brand-name. Sorry but Sprite and Root Beer are not Coke.

LOL how long have you lived in Texas and not heard that? Although I never considered Sprite/7-Up to be coke...just the dark colas.

LOL we've been here since August. But we're in San Antonio, it's it's own special breed of Texan. I asked Adam and he said he hadn't heard any locals say it either so I don't know, maybe we just didn't notice? We almost never order soda anywhere though so that could be part of it too. Only water and alcohol, haha.

This! DH calls it 'pop' and that just bugs me. LOL.

And back to the topic...I pronounce it correctly...and now I want to pick up some pecans at the farmer's market.

Definitely the correct (in other words, the SOUTHERN way). And yes, everything is a coke. :P

We pronounce it pee-kin, cause we're different like that. I didn't even know there was another way to say it.

I'm another of the hybrid variety who pronounces it pee-cahn.

But I hate them, so I don't spend a lot of time talking about them.
