I am not overly tech savvy, but my brother is...and he's crazy about the 5. He's sending me random texts about why the 5 is hands down better than the 4 or 4s...

Im not sure of the difference other than its slightly bigger, its thinner, and its supposed to have a better camera. oh and hubby said the battery is better too. Im eligible for an upgrade now but waiting until we get back from Europe next month to get my 5. Im super excited to get it!

I have a 4s and its awesome, but if I was due for an upgrade, I would want the 5. Its rare an upgrade isn't better. Pay the extra and get the brand new version.

The biggest difference is that it's 4g and a lot faster (according to advertising, up to 10x faster than 3g). It's also lighter weight and has mobile broadband capabilities. I just ordered a iPhone 5 today. There is only a $100 difference between the 4s and the 5 (the 4 is actually free with a 2 year contract, at least through Verizon). I'm going from a non-smart oldy moldy phone, so I'm really excited! Good luck with your decision!

thanks Sheri! I compared them on the Sprint site as well along with the Galaxy III...I think the galaxy is a little to big for me for carrying around...

I'm still trying to work out getting an iPhone (I also have a basic phone right now) and the biggest reason I would want a 5 would be that you might not be able to upgrade for 2 years. That doesn't mean I will get one because even that 99 cent iPhone 4 looks good to me,

my DH and I got the iPhone 5 on Friday. We both LOVE it. I didn't have a phone before, so I can't compare the difference between phones. I can only say that I really enjoy it.

We are eligible for our upgrades on Oct 7 and we'll be moving from the 4 to the 5. I cannot wait!!!! The difference in the camera from the 4 to the 5 is pretty big, plus I love the new size - a little longer but thinner and lighter. But, I am extremely biased toward anything Apple, so . . .

I still have the iphone 3! I'm thinking about upgrading just for the better camera.

I have the 4 (not 4S that im typing on right now actually) and depending on when I'm due for upgrade I may get the 5. But mainly because we are moving to NC and I want the kids to have a pone so they can FaceTime call grandma, etc. of course, they'd get my 4 and I'd get the 5.
![]() My only "worry""- not really a worry as much as a pet peeve is the new charger making all my old chargers and equipment obsolete. I'm sure there are adapters I can buy but still. It's an extra cost- wish they'd throw one in for free.

I have never been tempted to get an iphone until now-I'm eligible for an upgrade but I think I shall wait a bit and read some more customer reviews.

OK, those who have the 5 of even the 4S - can you do video and take stills while filming? That feature just might tip it for me as I broke the P&S camera I bought this past summer and it took great videos. I haven't replaced it yet and maybe the phone could be my replacement.
![]() I have a need to do video AND stills (that I can scrap) this Friday! |
