I wish I knew what happened. I know it's actually none of my business, but I'm so taken aback by this that I can't stop wondering.

She had a heart attack very early tuesday morning and she stopped breathing in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.

that is what happened to my dad Sara. Only memory I have of him actually was being taken away in an ambulance. That is really sad. Was there any pre-cursors to say she might be having heart issues? (dont want to be nosy just curious)

While we don't know Eva's situation, most of us here are women and about her age and as such, as young women we are at risk because its harder to detect heart attacks and thus they are much more deadly when they do happen in our demographic.
"Heart Attacks in Young Women are Harder to Detect and Deadlier." http://abcnews.go.com/Health/HeartDi...ry?id=15757319 I noticed that her memorial is to the American Heart Association. They have a campaign called "Go Red for Women." http://www.goredforwomen.org/ |

Thank you for posting this. I have been proactive for many years for heart disease as it runs in my family and mom, dad and brother when he was just 40 had heart attacks. Eva and I are the same age so I really want to make sure I get checked again. Ladies, please don't ever think you are too young to look into it.

Thanks, Sara. It's hard to believe something like that can happen, and happen so quickly. I think I hear of more stories of people having heart attacks and surviving that I forget they are fatal too. I can't imagine losing my spouse.

Thank you Sara and hello girls
I feel really sad that, since I joined Sweet Shoppe last January, this is my first post here. Eva had tried to encourage me to really take up digital scrapbooking as a hobby but I always said I was busy and would try harder to get involved "next month". Eva and I became friends long before she found Digital Scrapbooking, back when she wrote the most amazing tutorials for the Incredimail (letter creating community). She was such an inspiration and had such a wicked sense of humour. During her time in the navy she had spent time stationed in Scotland and we often spoke of her time over here. I remember her going to Washington on vacation in 2005, with Ken and the kids, when she came back she started talking about scrapbooking. It seemed days later she was totally hooked, if she couldnt find the papers or elements she needed, she created them. Ive still got her very first kits and Ive still got layouts she made for me - I will always treasure them. Thank you so much Sara for passing on and sharing Eva's obit from Ken. Ive shared the sad news with old friends in the Incredimail community and, they too, are still in shock. It's time for me to really take up the hobby, sorry for rambling on! Slainte Terri |
