New car advice needed
So, I took a new position with my school division in which I will be doing a ton of driving around our division (we are over 200 km across and I live at one edge). I will need a commuter car as it doesn't make sense to drive our big SUV around that much, as I will be driving about 200 km lots of days and some up to 400km...)
What do you ladies drive? I need something that is good on gas and will be good in winter driving (as I am on the Canadian prairies). Anyone have a vehicle that they would recommend? This whole car shopping thing is rather overwhelming! |

I had a similar dilemma when I traded my old SUV in 4 years ago - I wanted a car with good mileage because I run all over the state for my daughter's basketball but being in Maine I needed something good in the snow. I ended up going the route of mid size sedan (Hyundai Elantra) that gets 36 miles/gal and in the winter I slap on studded snow tires - best decision ever because the studded tires are just as good as my odl SUV with 4WD.

Thanks Marie! That is one on my list to check out. Have you had any problems with it or anything like that?

I live in the US pairies and need to go to work no matter what the weather is like plus I live on the opposite end of town from work. I bought a Toyota RAV4. Good on gas, all wheel drive, comfy and roomy and great resale value. I've had it nearly 3 years and still love it.

I absolutely love my car! Just the normal things like new brakes this year because it is 5 years old now (I bought it 1 year used with only 6000 miles on it), and a couple other maintenance things when it hit 70,000 miles last month. Other than that it's been a great vehicle.
