It has a sad story though.
Those photos are taken the day my friend from work got fired for no reason.
You can see that I cried on these photos. It was one of the worst days of the year and it has such a big impact on how I feel at my job now. But I'm really happy that we took the photos and that I was able to scrap them.
I have a coordinating journal page in my yearbook that tells the story of what happened that day.

This one for me, and it's also a sad story. These girls are all like my daughters (my actual daughter is on the right) and the girl in the middle passed away suddenly in May of 2016. I still miss her so much but this layout makes me smile because I love the photo and the colors

This is my favorite b/c the stars aligned somehow..
the kit matches the photos perfectly
there are lots of cute photos
lots of journaling
and look at all those adorable embellishments!!

This one is my favorite... I had the vision of what I wanted this page to look like and I was so frustrated that I couldn't find the illustration of my son that Traci designed for me like 5 years ago... I finally tracked down a copy in a different page I made... you know how when you have an idea you want it done NOW!! Yeah - that didn't happen - it took me 3 days to do this layout...

I did not do a lot of pages and I didn't upload as many to my gallery here but this is still probably my favourite. I LOVE these templates by brook and i REALLY hope she makes more of them (um hint hint broooooookie) It was a really special moment, photo, and I just loved that I could use the photo as a big focus with little bits here and there that added to it and didn't distract from the photo

This layout means more to me than just the event--it's was a special time that I could share with my daughter, and it reminds me how many fears I've conquered because of my children (my older DD is fearless but my younger is the one who cured my fear of heights).

This is my favorite for 2016! It was such a great day visiting family in Idaho and having all the cousins together. We spent the entire day sledding and being outside in the snow!

This beautiful memory, one of my favorite places, one of my favorite people, one of my favorite designer's kits (KCB)! And that shell template that I was worried wouldn't look right and had to test. I love it when it all comes together and feels like magic.

This was HARD. I think I have more than one favorite but, this was taken at my friends house. I was taking pictures of her turtles and Cade needed to air kiss each one.

It was hard to pick but I just love this one. My 11 year old doesn't let me take as many pictures of her as I would like these days so I love to scrap with the ones I have. Also the kit was perfect and I loved how I used the frame to focus on the journaling. And since it is super cold here right now, it makes me dream of the beach!

This one is probably my favorite for sure. I made it for one of the bingo challenges and it pushed me to learn something new and try a new technique. I flipping loved how it turned out!

I had a couple that I really loved from 2016 but chose this one. I was happy that I figured out how to do this paper wheel from a paper layout that I saw. I really love the fun papers too and the colors.

Well I scrapped alot in 2016 (302 pages in my gallery here!!! + all those I haven't posted!!)... so I can't pick a single favourite. I narrowed it down to six and then asked my son to choose, and he picked this one:



Its from a holiday we took to Central Australia last year and it was the most amazing experience. This is one our favourite places. I love the big photo, the colours and the gorgeous elements from Willemijne's kit.

2016 was the year I started scrapping regularly again after taking over two years off. My love of this hobby was completely rekindled last year, so there are a lot of pages from 2016 that mean a great deal to me. I think this one is my favorite because it was created during the SSD Summer Games, which totally forced me out of my comfort zone and kept me constantly trying new things and attempting to figure out how to make my pages stand out. I LOVE how this one turned out, and of course, the subject is near and dear to my heart.

This is my favorite page from 2016. I made it for one of the bingo challenges which I love since they tend to push me to think outside my normal, "just cuz it's pretty" pages and scrap something deeper. Even though I think often about the story I journaled, without this prompt I may not have ever put it in writing.

Plus I have a thing for red lately and think this kit is still just so beautiful! <3

I made this for the Olympics thing we did this summer (I have jet lag and can't remember what it was called!), and I love it because it was a rare occassion when I didn't use a template & it expresses how I feel about growing older.

This is, without a doubt, my favorite page of the year. It was inspired by a similar page that I did when my oldest was 9. It was so neat drawing his face and seeing what had changed in the simple lines and what was the same.

2016 wasn't my most prolific or inspired year but I found a few pages that stood out to me. I chose this one out of the bunch because I love the design of it (and it's a lift of Erin, who I also love). It includes a little bit of a story, which is something near and dear to my heart in my scrapbook. And the photo I'm really proud of - the photo itself and how I edited it.

I love this double page, because I worked for several hours making it. I love the template and kit I used and moreover, I love all those people in the page. They are the world for me.
The memories we had together during those days of the trip are priceless for me. Looking at the page, it puts smile on my face.

No way, you need to share your tricks on staying inspired and always creating beautiful pages so consistently! I promise that having a life is not why I only did about 125ish pages last year. (Meaning, I don't have a life. Not even a little one. haha!)

I have lots of favorites but this one is the one I'm most proud of. I usually shy away from multi-photo pages because I dread having to find and edit all the photos but I'm so glad I took the time to do it for this one.

This is my fave last year though I have a few in close second. I love the photos I took at a local orchard and I seriously love this girl. <3 I love this layout so much I made a phone case with the same kit and photo!

I really have no tricks, tbh.
I just happen to live in a country where I have no friends to talk to, except for the ones in my computer (read SSD, aka you guys). So, I spend a lot of time on the computer and take a lot of normal days photos. For me, I just scrap the everyday, as if I am writing a diary, really.

I am impatient, so that's probably why I scrap so fast. If I spend too much time on a layout, I probably end up disliking it (or trashing it altogether), unless it's a double pager.

I have alot of favorites but it really goes back to my favorite kits. There are just some kits that I wore out using over and over again. Chilly Nights and Warm Blankets by Red Ivy had to be my favorite of the year and this is my favorite page made with that kit.

Looks like I had about 336 layouts this year...I love this layout. It's so fun and colorful and captures my daughter's personality perfectly!

This is me too. Being a SAHM, and a military wife, I really don't make or keep very many friendships and have no family around. Just the time that I start getting close to people we (or they) are reassigned and I have to start all over again. After 8+ years of this I'm burnt out and I stopped trying as much. My digi-friends are always there wherever I move and in all kinds of time zones. You guys keep me sane and happy if I've got something to share, good or bad! <3 I scrapped 556 pages last year (That's just at SSD... I didn't even count my other galleries though it's not much anywhere else). Sometimes I'm embarrassed about that... like I really should be doing something else/more with my life but I figure it keeps me happy in the midst of all the changes and unhappy things in life and I'm still at the girl's school functions, still keep a clean house/make dinner, still spend time with my family etc. Some people have weekly bowling, or girl's night out, or whatever the case may be. I have scrapping. Right? Lol.. I hope at least!
