Creative baby shower ideas? Help!
Totally forgot about a baby shower coming up next weekend... looking for something creative, but fairly quick and easy... oh, and relatively inexpensive. Any ideas for me without my having to resort to Pinterest? I don't wanna get sucked into that!

Ooh... I like all of those ideas. Thanks Meg! I especially love the first one... but my friend doesn't have a name picked out yet. That would kinda be a problem... lol.

Ha ha! I will take links to people's pin boards! Two of my girlfriends are pregnant and due this fall, so I am all into pinning baby shower stuff these days. |

Is she registered? Because honestly I appreciated getting stuff I registered for a lot. But if it's a girl, you can never have too many cute hairbows.

I ditto Kellie... I loved the creative gifts, but I really wanted the essentials and stuff I registered for. With my second baby, all I really wanted was diapers and wipes! Now I try to give diapers and wipes (And A&D ointment because i swear by it) at every shower and sometimes something homemade to go with it if I have time.

my vote would be using sticker paper to create monthly photo stickers, then picking something up from the registry. both creative and useful!

I was actually thinking of going for diapers in addition to something creative. This is her first baby, and she is having her all on her own (no dad in the picture), so I want to get her what she is going to need. She does have a wonderful, supportive family, but I know that when I had kids, I hated buying diapers, and yet they are a definite need! |

I made this card for my brother's baby, and sent it with a beautiful diaper cake. I'm trying to find the pic of the diaper cake:

http://www.etsy.com/shop/LittleBabyBumblebee I get some of these for every friend that has a baby now. It's designed to just be stuck on a plain white onesie which are so easy to have, and such a fun way to be able to use a photo to document the baby's growth

Here's another idea: newborn diapers, a baby washcloth for the blanket, and a baby sock for the hat! such a cute gift idea!

Oh, thanks Jen.... I'm so far out of the baby loop that I had never seen these.... so cute!
Jacinda... thank you so much! Now my hardest task is going to be choosing one of these ideas! |

I know what my daughter really appreciated from us was the diaper bag filled with essentials...lotion, soaps, baby powder, wipes, diapers, rash ointment. That is usually something they might not get otherwise. She had two family members (one is coming next weekend) who had baby showers and she bought diaper bags with some stuff for both of them as well.

What great ideas! Jacinda do you have a link for the cupcakes? I need something for my SIL that is having baby # 4. She will have 4 kids under 6 years old. I think she will need some new socks and cloths.

Diapers are an amazing gift, especially in the larger sizes. My kids grew out of newborn right away, so I really appreciated all of the larger sizes that I was gifted.
I'm not sure when her baby is due, but I had a Memorial Day baby and loved the Muslin swaddle blankets for the sticky summer months we get in New Hampshire. They are a little pricey if you buy them (like I did...in boy patterns even though I had a girl...I was desperate!) but you can make them cuter for less.

Thank you all SO much for the links and ideas! I'm going with diapers AND the onesie cupcakes... those are just too cute, and I'll actually have time to get them done.
