LOL Babysitting is def good birth control

So Jordan is.....COMPLETELY.....obsessed with hockey. And he's superstitious. He truly believes that if he doesn't watch the Penguins hockey game on our tv from our couch, it will cause them to lose, and thus lose the Stanley Cup. (This, is relevant to the story I'm going to tell) We're supposed to be going to a big BBQ this weekend that has been planned for months, but he told me yesterday that if the Pens win tonight, he won't be going (game 7 would be saturday night, and we're spending hte night at the bbq). So yea.

ANYWAY! So an emergency came up, and we ended up watching our friends 4.5 year old boy for a few hours tonight. Hockey came on, so he and I came down the hall so he could watch Sponge Bob and I could scrap and Jordan could watch hockey.

So Jordan claps about something good. Not his crazy usual yelling self, just a good hard clap to show he approved (you know, cuz the team can hear him and it will help them ). Daylane gets up and says "I'm gonna go see what Jordan is doing." Ok.

From down the hall I hear, "Can you keep it down? I'm trying to watch Sponge Bob. Just clap like this" *proceeds to demonstrate a softer clap that would not interrupts Sponge Bob down the hall* and I hear Jordan say "sure thing Buddy"

I almost DIED laughing.

His dad came and picked him up, and Jordan comes down the hall and says "Ok, I'm definitely not ready for kids. What was with all the questions?! Not to mention the clapping during Sponge Bob!"

Seriously, lol. So funny.

Too funny! We don't even attempt to watch TV until after the kids are in bed. Mya (6 months) is experimenting with various forms of loud screeching and Jamin (age 3) run a continuous narrative as he plays.

that is cute!

Tell Jordan that the Penguins should win tonight because my DH (who is rabid for hockey too) has college tonight and can't see the game. It's just killing him! But he thinks it means good things for the Pens because they always win when he can't watch! LOL Tom isn't so much a Pens fan, but he is a die-hard Red Wings hater!! But I did just check the score and it doesn't look good so far.

ROFLMAO! That is too funny!

And Jordan sounds like my DH with his superstitions! We are die hard Philadelphia Eagles fans and my DH has specific jersey's that he must wear and if they win, then nothing can be washed and he wears the same thing the following week. It totally cracks me up!

Well they just scored. I'm pretty sure I'm not allowed to watch the game, cuz I made the red wings score on monday night (*eye roll*). But Sara checked the score and it's 2-1 now. Detroit is the better team. They've been walking all over the Pens all series.

Jac he's the same with the Steelers.

I don't mind the obsession usually, but when it interferes with my plans with awesome friends, then I get testy. This will be the 3rd instance of insanity. LOL

LOL, great story, Colleen. I'm SO glad we weren't around little kids before we started having our own, or joel would NEVER have agreed to start!

LOL... My DH has moments where I feel like he goes above and beyond being a "fan". When we moved last time, it was on a weekend in October and of course, we didn't have cable hooked up instantly. So instead of helping me unpack or watching the two children that were determined to make forts out of all the boxes, do you know where he was? AT WALMART, searching for an anteana! And then he spent an hour trying to figure out how to hook it up! LOL! MEN!

WOOT! I know! I flipped over to it right at the very end. He came down the hall and I said "sorry babe", and he was all "Whatever, it was a bad game, I bet we see some rule changes after this one. I'm sure it won't be the last time we get this far. No biggie."

I was so confused. After spending weeks flipping out watching the games, and then being a jerk-off about this weekend, now it's no big deal?!!??! Men are so confusing.
