Default Upgraded from PSE 4.0 to PSE 6.0!

Since having Vista PSE 4.0 has been pretty quirky with certain features not working and from what I've seen thus far PSE 6.0 is working like 4.0 used to before Vista...hurray!

Anything about 6.0 you want to share with me, good or bad???

THANKS!

No idea, I've never used it, but I wanted to say congrats on the new program!

I have 5.0, but I sat down w/ one of my friends last night who has 6.0... She showed me that you can't drag and drop stuff from your photo bin onto your canvas. You have to go to the element and then drag it onto your LO's thumbnail in the photo bin.... really annoying.

Congrats! I'm asking for an upgrade to PSE 6.0 for my birthday (I too have 4.0 and Vista), so hopefully I'll join you...

if i recall correctly to nudge an item you need to select it's layer then hit ctrl t (for the transform selection command I think) and THEN you can use your arrow keys to nudge it. that drove me crazy til i figured it out.

i loved the option to make a palette of your fave actions.

installing actions is a bit more complicated, alas.

more drop shadow options.

on the whole I was happy with the upgrade (i had gone from 4.0 to 6.0 too but now I use PS CS3)

Honestly, I've never used this feature of PSE. The photobin actuallys gets on my last nerves so I just expand my screen so I don't even see it. I prefer to switch windows to copy and paste my elements, etc to my page. I guess I am just set in my way, LOL!!

<---- you aren't kidding....thank goodness for Hummie's Tutorials or I never would've figured it out! Several actions that weren't working in 4.0 that I had are now working in 6.0 and several that are created in CS2 & CS3 work too. I just make a generic .png to be able to have them work! I am lovin' that!!

i hate that i can't drag and drop from the bin, and thanks for the nudging tip. I couldn't figure it out either. I despise having to install actions in pse 6. i just got my new laptop and i have not put them on here yet. i have a lot too. it'll take me all day probably. uggg.

I have Vista on my new laptop, and was using PSE4. I was having troubles with it, so I bought PSE6. I could NOT figure it out...I don't want to even try, so I'm back to using PSE4. A lot of my actions don't work all the time now, but I'd rather that than trying to figure out 6. I do have CS3, so I'm trying to learn that now too. There is one problem with it that I can't figure out, and once I figure it out, I'm sure I won't go back to elements at all!!

i think in 6.0 you can change the drop shadow color and size (along with distance and angle). I think in 4.0 you can only adjust distance and angle? (not sure if I'm remember correctly)

the loss of the photo bin was the hardest part of switching to CS3 for me.

I use 5.0 and just got 6.0 but I don't want to switch! LOL I used it for 1/2 day, couldn't figure out how to drag my elements onto the layout, got frustrated and went back to 5. But before school starts I need to figure it out, the yearbook class I co-teach is using 6........
I might be looking for some tuts!

it's the opposite way. you drag from the main window to the photo bin.

Thanks, I'll try that - maybe I'll load it back on this weekend!

I love PSE 6.0. It was a little different than 4.0 but I love that I can do so much more with the drop shadows. I bought the scrapper's guide PSE 6.0 CD online, and it goes through everything - beginner to advanced. I'm working like a pro now with 6.0, and I love it - thanks to Scrapper's Guide.
