Default Fantasy Football!!

WOOT!!! Let the games begin ladies!!!

I pray my Giants can keep it together tonight against the Skins. I HATE the Skins. but we lost Strahan AND Osi and those are big losses.

Sara, do all our players play?? It doesn't look like I have a bench list like I do for my other league.

no.. there's a bench list... although I can't see it from here.. because well, I don't know why but I can't. But yes, there is a bench list. You should have ppl benched.

Here's what everyone should have...

2 QB, 3 RB, 3 RB, 2 TE, 1 K, 1 DEF and 13 players benched.

Ok. I'm setting up my team for the other league, I'll check those positions when I go back to this one.

PS~My other team sucks.

Ok I see it now.
Doesn't even much matter, because the default players are who I would have picked anyway, lol!

Oh I have to set my lineup for our league. I'm in another league (sharing a team with my oldest son who was dying to try fantasy football) and I'm SO SO SO excited that I will get to see three of my players go in person.... Donovan McNabb, David Ackers and Steven Jackson (STL) because we are going to the game on Sunday.... WOOOO HOOOO!

Me neither! I picked names I've heard a bunch. And if I was stumped I went with the player with the higher owner %. I figured that was the percentage of ppl who keep them on their teams vs dropping them or trading them (no idea if that's true or not, but it made sense in my head so I went with it, lol).

Yes. You need to pick the people that you want to play this week. My team had defaults set up, and I actually didnt' change any of the players. But I don't know if it does that for everyone or if I just got lucky.

Basically, when you sign in and go to fantasy football '08 and click on your team, it'll take you to your roster. There might be defaults set up (maybe not though, cuz my other league had no defaults). You go through all the players you have and pick who you want to play that week. You need to pick 2 QB's, 3 RB's, 3 WR's, 2 TE, 1 kicker and 1 defense. The other 13 players sit the bench and have a BN next to their name.

If you have defaults and you like them, then you don't have to do anything. If you don't have defaults you need to drag players to their respective positions (drag 2 QB's into the 2 QB spots, etc). Then click save changes, and you're set for the week. From 7pm on thursday to whenever the monday night game ends, you can't change anything.

Ok so if they already have a position next to them, then they're who was preselected? This yahoo thing has me so confused for some reason.

Yup! If it says BN next to them in the blue box on the left, then they are on the bench.

If you want to play someone who's benched, you just drag them up to the player you want to replace. Nice and easy like

Ok that makes sense. Now what do the percentages mean next to them? It says %Owne but then it's cut off so I don't know what it says, haha.

That's % owned. If it's 0% owned, then no one else in the entire yahoo football system owns the guy and you should probably dump him. LOL

Hmm, something tells me I have a rather crummy team since I couldn't figure out the draft thing...this should be interesting.

Well, I'm pretty savvy at football and fantasy football, but this Yahoo version is pretty different than what I'm used to. I'm used to ESPN.com. So this roster, the method of drafting, and stuff is all strange to me!

OK, wow, most of my players must suck since their % owned is pretty low. I must make some changes next week, LOL! Watching the Giants / Redskins now...

My team seems to kind of stink too...however, I am so excited to play. Yahoo is very different from the espn leagues I am used to. Good luck everyone!

haha, Penny, I have the same problem. I think I've got like a 3% and 1% on my team because there's only 0% left.

Ouch you guys! LOL! You know you can drop players and add them right? Especially drop those 0%-ers and ones that are out for the season (they should have IR next to them in red, for injury reserve, I think). When looking at your roster up towards the top are green words (add, drop, trade). Click drop and select who you want to drop, and add to do the opposite. I would suggest checking out who is available in those positions though before you drop ppl. There might not be anyone better to replace them! LOL!

In my other league I picked up Vince Young and Ricky Williams, so that was sweet. We'll see how it goes after this first week, lol.

Sara you've got all weekend to catch up Thankfully Eli and Plaxico had good games for me. Better than predicted

Yuck!! I think that's probably because we each get to play so many people. My other league is about half as big (I only play 1 QB, 2 RB's, etc) and a smaller group of people, so there are better pickin's left, lol.

I have Ricky Williams! I hope he doesn't just light up doobies this year and actually plays his heart out. This being Friday and all, we can't change our roster anymore until after the Monday night game? Or can we?

I think you can change players around, but I'm not totally sure since I've never done a fantasy league. I thought you couldn't change once the thursday game started, but I moved around people who don't play until sunday.

Never hurts to try! LOL!

I think the rules said you can change people around up until 5 minutes before the start of that game.

Ok here's what the yahoo rules say:

The deadline to complete all transactions (trades, waiver claims, and free agent claims) for a given week is 11:59 p.m. PT every Sunday.

However, you can only add players to your active roster for the current week if the transaction is completed no later than five minutes before the start of the player's game. In other words, none of the active players on your team (players in a starting roster spot) involved in a move can have played or be within five minutes of their game's start time, or the transaction is not allowed. So, for example, transactions for all active players who play at 10:00 a.m. PT must be completed by 9:55 a.m. PT.

You are allowed to make transactions involving your bench players at any time during a week—even if a player's game has begun. However, you are not permitted to activate any player who is already within the five-minute limit. All such players must remain on your bench until the following week.

Additionally, all intraoster moves (switching players between active and bench spots) can be made until five minutes before the start of each player's game.

Thanks guys! It sounds more flexible than I thought. The problem now is... I looked at the list of available players and I don't want any of them! Hmm...
