My stepdaughter is 8 now but 2 years ago, all she wanted was baby doll stuff. For Christmas, we got her a baby doll and diaper bag and filled the diaper bag up.

She also loves play kitchen stuff still.

My 6 yr old niece asked for clothes, my little ponies and polly pockets.

Thanks for the reminder - I need to buy that gift today

My daughter turned 6 in May and her absolute favorite gift of all was a gift card to Old Navy. She was so excited to go into the store and use her 'credit card' to pick out and pay for her very own clothes. It was quite an ordeal - and a good math lesson too - because we found several outfits and she had to figure out how she was going to get the biggest bang for her buck so to speak because she wanted an entire outfit.

Other than that, her favorites were a craft set from one of her friends and a High School Musical hat.

Well i always buy something for them to make, like an art or crafty thing. Brooke loves that stuff and they're almost the same age!

I buy a High School Musical or Hanna Montana purse at TJ Maxx and fill it with some candy and trinkets or a diary and pen.

my son is 7 and he as well loved having a gift card that he could spend and buy whatever he wanted! and I thought girls were into clothes, so if she is your daughter's size how about a cute outfit with matching hair ribbons, stockings or matching socks~depending on how muh you are willing to spend any of the educational LeapFog producrs are wonderful....Abby _even though she is only 2 1/2} has about 4 baby dolls and that is 2 too many if you ask me~but that is just me...you could also buy her some sort of fun game that she could play with family or friends....my sign has High Ho Cherrio and loves it...or what about a princess bucket of some sort and fill it with all kinds of random goodies like hair bows/barrettes, crayons, coloring book, sunglasses, bubble bath, and some fun snacks like rainbow colored goldfish, gummy bears.....just a few ideas...

Ok, Natalie will be 5 soon. But all she wants is littlest pet shop, my little ponies, and coloring books/crayons/stickers. I would dismiss this, but my 10 year old and 14 year old play WITH her and her pet shops/ponies/coloring books. Even better if it is a Pony coloring book!

my 6 y/0 adores Little Pet Shop animals and outfits for dressing up her stuffies (think build-a-bear). You can never go wrong with arts and crafts stuff too, painting books, color wonder, that sorta thing. If you can, shop somewhere that offers a gift receipt, that is what I do when I don't know the kid or parents too well and don't know their tastes.

We're actually going to a party tomorrow and the little girl likes Disney princesses and tinker bell, dressing up and typical girlie stuff. We picked out a Disney princess purse, jewelry set and bath set (loofa sponge, shimmer shower gel and lotion).

Craft kits are also a good gift

My daughter just turned 7, and she loves art. Her favorite thing is blendy pens, which she first got for her 6th birthday. They are markers that you can blend the colors and almost paint with. She also likes to color those black felty posters, that come with markers. She also LOVES highschool musical, polly pockets, stuffed animals, and littlest pet shop. Oh, and cabbage patch kids, she has a whole little family of them!
