This morning the Today Show had a report about booster seats and safety. We're about to get Wes one, so this is perfect timing. Here is the .pdf that their website linked to. It gives a chart of the very best ones according to safety:

Just make sure you check with your local police because booster seat laws vary state to state. My kids were once chosen to pose for the Car seat awareness flyers and when we went to get the photos taken, my current car seat (which was only a year old) was illegal according to the new PA state laws. so, they gave us a new one.

Most State Police dept. will run free car seat/booster seat clinics and will be able to tell you if your seat/booster is still considered safe and if you have it secured in your car correctly.

We just bought one, and I don't see it on the list. Figures. But its pink and it made her squeal with delight, so it should be all good right? LOL

Thanks so much for this info, Kresta! My 4 year old needs a new seat and I've been researching, but this is the best information I've seen yet.
