Default Dumb Question re: Calendars

I'd like to give my mom & sister Dani's CD calendar with pictures of my nephew in it, but can I get them printed at that size at Shutterfly, Vistaprint, etc.?

I don't have a printer at home that can print them nice enough to use, and I want to make sure I'll be able to print them before I buy the kit.

How do you guys do it??

Thanks.

[And no, Col, this does not count as a hybrid project. I am merely printing & placing. Not, you know, glittering or ribboning and stuff.]

For CD calendars I usually put my flattened calendar page onto a blank 5x7 canvas & save that as a jpeg and then upload to Sam's Club for printing. I've found that 5x7's are way cheaper than doing 2 to a page on an 8x10. You will have to trim a little around the edges this way but it doesn't usually take me that long to trim the excess.

What's so bad about glittering or ribboning and stuff LA? I think if you try it you may like it!

You can't get them printed that specific size, no.
If you can handle scissors, do like Shawna does

Or use a straight trimmer if you have one

Oh, Lord! I'm going to have to CUT things?! Maybe they wouldn't notice if all the pages are crooked-y. :P

Thanks, guys.

Why in the world would I buy one of those?! I don't CUT things. :P

My mom, being a kindergarten teacher, has one, but I won't see her again until Christmas, so that's no good.

Sigh. Life is so difficult sometimes.

You're so difficult. Does your work have a paper cutter? Can you go to a LSS and hijack theirs?

It'd be easier if you weren't so stubborn.

No, no, the word you're looking for is DETERMINED, not STUBBORN. Just like how I'm not ANNOYING & WEIRD, but ENDEARINGLY QUIRKY.

See?!

Maybe Jeff's mom has one? She is only 20 minutes away & paper scraps. I forgot abt LSSs just lettin' ya use 'em and stuff if you walk in.

HAve not read any responses yet but

PE Photo does 5x5 for .25 cents I just ordered 3 "sets" for $9.00. Their shipping is a little high (I paid 6.99 for priority from NY to PA) but the prints are BEASUTIFUL!!!! Also if you live in or really near NY or NJ you can pick them up FREE!!!

Scrapbook Pictures does 5x5 for .50 cents and they have a flat shipping rate of $2.00. I have never tried them but I know girls on here use them and LOVE them!!!

How I do mine is the actual file size of the calander is like 4.75 and I just plop that on a white 5x5 page and trim the white off when it's sent to me!!!

So I just read all the response and if you don't want to cut them 5x5 is pretty close you could probably just shove them in the case and they would never know the difference!!!

Wait, LeeAndra, don't give in yet. I saw CD calendars somewhere yesterday. Give me a sec and I'll figure out where it was.

I'm lazy and cheap - the calendars have to fit the 4x6, 5x7 or 3.5x5 cheapo acrylic frames I can find at Target, etc. .... NO cutting, evah...
