Default I am back from the mall...I nearly died!

And that's not an exaggeration. Seriously, it started out ok, I got up at 4:30, got dressed, picked up my sister and headed to Old Navy - got what I needed. Then to Sears - got what I needed there. Then I went to Target. That's when it all went wrong.

So I get in, and I am walking down the center aisle. It's not that bad, I am thinking (except for the silly girl yelling at people)...but then they opened the other doors. Apparently there was some great TV on sale, and people started running and pushing. I was able to get around all that, and went to DVDs. Well DVDs was just as much a hot mess. There was pushing, yelling, etc. I have never seen more people trying to buy the Gremlins movie.

The good part is, I really love all this. Now I am ready for the holidays....and bed.

thank goodness the kids didn't sleep last night because I was going, and that's exactly what I was going for...not Gremlins but the other $4 and $6 DVD's. Tab was gonna stay here with the kids but after being up all night I couldn't drag my arse outta bed!

Glad you made it home safe

Lena...you def. ended up lucky because those dvds were insane. I couldn't even believe it. You had to fight your way to the racks, and then had to fight other people to get some. On a light holiday note, I had many people who were next to them and willingly handed me the ones I wanted. It was very nice. Still..I could have died.

People are NUTS!! LOL

Glad you made it out alive Aaron LOL.... there's no way in heck I'd be caught in any store on Black Friday. I'd rather sit here and shop in my jammies with a cup of coffee in hand!

and your collab with La is just freakin' adorable!

i have never been shopping on Black Friday. Part of me has a morbid curiosity and would like to experience it, lol. but i would have to find someone to watch my kids first. no way would i drag them along only to have one of them lost or trampled to death, lol.

After working retail for 10 years...I don't do Black Fridays in any retail establishment if I can absolutely help it. I don't care how cheap it is.

Ugh - sorry you had a bad time at Target, Aaron..some people are just stupid about saving $5

It actually amazes me that people act so ridiculously over a SALE! C'mon people...get a grip! I'm so glad that we don't do Black Friday up here (the stores with bases in America do, but as far as I know it's not like that).

We have Boxing Day up here, I don't know if you have that down there? Originally it was the day you took all the gifts you didn't like back the day after Christmas, but now it's just a great big sale and most stores don't do returns at all until the next week, lol. Even when shopping on Boxing Day I've never seen people acting stupid - most stores only let x amount of people in at a time and there is a line outside so as people go out, employees let more people in.

DH did the "combat shopping" as he called it this morning He went to Target to get an XBox 360 for the kids because Target was offering it with a $60 gift card. He said there was a woman in front of him who was there at 6am THAT DIDN'T EVEN KNOW WHAT SHE WAS THERE TO BUY! Who gets up at the crack of dawn to go into combat and doesn't have a game plan?????? Thank God for wonderful husbands who do the shopping for you!

I know what you mean.

I had to fight the blankets and then the huge crowd of males in the kitchen, wanting breakfast, tbefore I could get to my laptop. The wait before it booted up was endless! Then there were all those tabs of all the stores that I had to plow through. I'm still recovering...

I did get DH a nice Flip Video MinoHD with case and tripod for $209 though, so it was worth it.

I might have actually braved a real live crowd had they been advertised anywhere for $150 or so, but the lowest I saw was $199 and I'm willing to pay $10 to not get up at 4am.

I had to work overnight so I couldn't make the sales. I convinced hubby to go to walmart to get one thing that they had in the ad. Well actually he pulled up to the store just after 3 because he got woken up somehow and decided to head out. Well even just after three there were so many people he said that he would not even be able to get into the store and he said forget it. Oh well.

LOL Every time I hear stories like this I picture that scene from that Christmas movie, the name escapes me, the one with Arnold and Tom, the guy who use to be married to Roseanne. They both want the same toy and there is a scene when a store opens it doors..anyways...LOL

Oh my gosh! I am glad you made it home in one piece and with some things crossed off your list! How scary. A friend of mine had all the stores listed with what time they opened. Then, a list of things from each place he wanted. Haven't checked in with him yet to see if he made it through or not. Now, I'm worried!

Laughing so hard at your comment that "Walmart people are mean!" They are in my town too!!!!

I did all my shopping and really had no issues at all today (other than WalMart being out of the camera I wanted). People weren't bad at all (though I would never go to Best Buy today). I even had a lady hold my place in line so I could go back for the Mack Cars transport. lol

I was watching The Smoking Guns Black Friday shopping special last night and there was a lady who kept saying, "I could have died!" and it was cracking me up.

I was at Walmart @ 4:30am today! Got in & found an aisle spot right by the items I wanted and waited for the horn to blow to allow us to tear the ribbon and head to the goodies! I got everything I went for, except for the Hot Wheels cars which I forgot about until I got back up near the front of the store and there was no way I was going back into the craziness for one little thing lol! I got the $5 Barbie dolls and Hannah Montana dolls I wanted and the $4 HM and Cars pajamas, $4 HM hoodies, $4 HM slippers and $4 HM crocs!! My girls are going to be in Hannah Montana heaven this year! I would have liked to get some of the $2 DVD's but I decided I didn't want to step foot near electronics LOL!

ROLF.. Pushing, shoving, and yelling over a Gremlin's movie?

You're brave for going to Target. They showed our Target on the news a bit ago and it was mass chaos. No thanks!

More power to ya'. Black Friday brings out the old anxiety and panic attacks so I stayed home.
Two years ago I tried lining up for some toy at wal-mart for Kassi. Got there at 4am and the line was already backed up to the end of the parking lot. Haven't done it since and don't plan to. I don't have the you know whats to put up with the crowds!

I think it may be worse this year than any other. Everyone is so worried about money or they have so much less this year that they are willing to do anything to save a few dollars.

I stayed home this year.

Glad to hear you made it out alive!

I totally agree...people are serious for a buck, including myself. I went to a few stores, and the stores that were crazy busy were the ones with great deals...example: Old Navy had at least 300 people waiting at 5am for them to open, but sweaters were $10 for the morning (which I bought two of: for me), and they have tons of other sales. Places like Macy's who didn't have any exciting sales didn't really seem busy.

i just got back and i am exhausted...i got some stuff on sale but some of it wasn't on sale...i could've slept in but what fun would that have been i have to admit i didn't go to walmart because walmart shoppers will fight for something in a heartbeat...my grandmother said on the news there was a fight at a walmart store about 45 minutes from us & they had to call the police...crazy...
