Default just saw this on the news

Im sure it will be on the news everywhere this evening if it already is not but they are having a news conference right now here in Orlando and they have announced officially that the remains found last week are Kaylee Anthony and that the cause of death is homicide by undetermined circumstances. Im kinda sad now even though I expected this was the case. It is awful to have happened but for her family (not including her mother) to get this news so close to christmas is terriible.

Yeah, we all knew it was her, but its still sad.

Did you hear that the guy that reported the bones has reported it THREE TIMES since August and the PD just never followed up? And this last time he reported it only because he went out to check if any had been there (like the police) and he saw the bones were still there so he called them AGAIN. Now there's a big investigation into the way the PD handled the initial report.

Just think. If they had gone out there back in August, just months after Caylee went missing, this could have been over a long time ago.

So sad.

Yes it is very sad! But I didn't know that Jenny! That is just absurd! How terrible they didn't listen to the man!

this all makes me so sick to my stomach.

do the people who commit such acts really have a soul? seems nearly impossible to me that they do. *sigh* too sad for me to digest, really.

so so sad. poor little Caylee. i just can't get this story out of my head. i cant imagine the horrors she had to go through. it broke my heart and had me near tears today hearing Emma cry so hard at having blood drawn; i can't see how someone could murder a child! how do they sleep at night??

The PD has some serious 'splainin to do about not checking out the man's report sooner.

I just saw the news and I am so sad. I figured it was her, but I guess still held out some hope for her. It just doesn't make sense how anyone can do anything like this.

All I can say is Orange County Police Dept. are not the best in the world so to hear they did not investigate this does not surprise me. My husband and I called to report a robbery in our home and it took like four hours after calling for a deputy to get here. A girl called and left a message on my daughters cell phone saying she would f***ing kill my daughter if she sees her at school and the officer who responded to that said "There is nothing he can do about it because she does not have the ability to carry out the threat" So yea hearing that about OCPD is not surprising at all

He's a metereader and he saw the bones while doing that somehow. They weren't exactly well-hidden from what it sounds.

But it just makes me sick that this could all have been over FOUR MONTHS AGO if they had just done their jobs and checked it out!

I had heard that originally he was going into the woods to 'relieve himself' and that kinda made sense to me but I mean how/why did he originally have the belief they should look in that area? What made him make the first three tips to the police that has been reported he made before going out there to check it out himself??

sorry I wasn't clear. He actually FOUND the bones back in August. He reported it and they did nothing. This time, when he reported the bones again, it was because he went out there to see if they were still there because the PD was telling him they "will take care of it". So when he saw that the bones were still there, he called them again and thats when the PD found them.

The news I watched last night said he found a grey garbage bag in August and reported that. He called for 3 days in a row to have them check it out and they never followed through.

That makes me sad. I'm sure it provides closure for the rest of the family, but as for the mother, I hope she rots in hell.

Wow just sickening! I am glad they are finally going to get some kind of closure but I am so heart broken for that innocent child that never had a chance and the remainder of her family that has to cope with the loss

Yeah, I read he reported a bag, and they couldn't find it when they went to look where he'd said he found it. It does seem a bit bad for the the police department that it was reported 3 times and they didn't find it till now.

It's just so so so sad. I can't imagine how a mother could do this to her child. My Mil still doesn't all the way believe that the mother did it but to me if one of my kids went missing I would be on the phone right away not a month later! How could you go to sleep at night thinking I guess I'll look again tomorrow, thats just not normal

This is just another reminder of how sloppy the PD's can be or just trying to drag out the scandal and publicity either or it's food for thought
