If you can spare a prayer or two.... (Updated)
Please keep the little boy in your thoughts. My friends lost custody of him today and he's going back to live with the awful woman that is his biological mother as we speak.
I'm so sad and worried for him.    Previous threads for those who have no idea what I'm talking about: #1 #2 #3 ETA: Update! I just talked to another friend about the friend with the little boy. She had spoke with the friend with the little boy (sorry, confusing). The social worker advised that he should stay with my friends for another 2 months or so to make sure his mom stays clean and whatnot, and the judge was like no, actually, we're not doing that.  But it is in the court papers that if my friend suspects she's using again, they get right back to court. It's also in the papers that during the week he's with my friends so he can continue school, and once his mom sets him up in school then he's down there for good. My friends get visitation every other weekend, and if his mom refuses them even once, they go right back to court.I guess his mom has been really accommodating this time, and trying to make it work. She's in AA, seeing a counselor, and back on her meds (she's got LOTS of mental illness issues). But I will never trust her. Plus, they do abuse him. So I'm still really sad that he's going back to that, but I guess at this point it could be a lot worse. They did put some restrctions on his mom, in a way, so that's better than nothing.

I am ready to come over there and smack the "judge" and the "mother" upside their freaking heads!!! WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE?!?!?! Maybe the mom is sleeping with the judge or something.... ooooops. Did I say that outloud??

How very sad for this little boy and for your friend....I can't figure out why someone gets so many chances!
I mean, his "biological" hasn't been able to get it right yet, so why play games with this little boy's life....I will definitely pray that this little boy stays safe and I will also keep your friend in my thoughts and prayers....

I still can't believe it...he is in my thoughts and prayers EVERY night. I hope she gets clean & sober but I still think he belongs with your friend, he is obviously happier there. Is it terrible for me to hope the Mom screws up and your friend gets him forever????? Sorry, had to say it

I am so sad this is happening. I think of him too, and wished that there would be some kind of change in the decision so he can stay put. I really really hope that the boy will be safe. I can't fathom why a judge would willingly put a child back in an abusive home. I know they want to keep children with their birth mothers as much as possible, but this is ridiculous.
Keep us posted Col. I'm scared for the little guy.
