Default Book Printing Questions

I really want to print a book and and I don't know where to begin I have done the hybird books but I really want to finally print one, so I have some questions.

Where is the Best place to get books printed?

How much room do you leave on the edges of each page?

How many pages have to be in the book?

I use Shutterfly. Not as cheap as some of the other places, but they're easy to use and *very* reliable, imo. I make all of my LOs in 12x12 but print them 8x8. Before uploading them to the site, I resize my LOs to 11.75" and put them on top of a 12x12 white background. This way, there is no cropping of the edges of my LOs and I don't lose journaling, etc. At shutterfly, you can do a book with between 20 and 100 pages. I don't know anyone that has done the whole 100 pages, but I know some people have gone as high as 80 and loved it!

So, there ya go. Hope that helped!

I had one done at Artscow, and I'm okay with it, but I will NOT be printing my yearly albums with them. It was randomly cropped, sometimes it was perfect, sometimes there was a lot of white, and sometimes only one edge was noticably cropped.

Megan did a review of photobooks, and she determined that Viovio had the best price for top quality. I'll see if I can link you up to her review when I have a sec.

Here it is! https://www.sweetshoppecommunity.com...ghlight=viovio

I love my Viovio book. I actually disliked my Shutterfly book quite a bit and I feel they are overpriced.

But be warned, the Viovio site is NOT very user friendly.

I used Winkflash for a 12x12 book and was completely happy with the results! I printed close to 100 pages for around $60 (included a customized embossed cover). I created an action that put a 1/4" white border around all of my pages to ensure there would be no cropping issues. The only thing I didn't care for with Winkflash was how you load your pages into the book. It's best to know what sequence you'll want them, since it's a PITB to move them around.

I've made a few books from shutterfly and really really like them, but they are a bit pricey. I did some books from Artscow for xmas and I think they were just ok - but are VERY cheap. my yearly books, I don't print as one book. I print my 8x8 layouts at Costco and then put them into albums. Thsi works because i don't scrap in order.

books that i've done are for things that are start to finish --- like my son's preschool year, or our family reunion. stuff like that.

My mission this weekend is to get all of my LO's uploaded to shutterfly/viovio/winkflash/ANYWHERE and get a dang book printed. I don't have ANY of my Lo's printed, and it's starting to bug me.

If you use Artscow, I've got a ton of coupon codes for $11.99 books (30 pages) with free shipping. Let me know if you need a code
