This was suggested in another thread I posted here and I thought I'd open a separate discussion on it. Do any of you use double-stick "SCOTCH" type tape regularly? In what cases can you rely on it to stick? Is there a specific brand that you prefer? Do you find it to be cost-effective?
Thanks so much! I'm experimenting a lot with different adhesives and the trial-and-error aspect of this is leading to some serious cardstock and pp waste and even some ruined projects. Debbie Last edited by bttrflygrl; 02-03-2009 at 12:15 PM. |

I know stampers use double-stick tape a lot...I've never been able to find a decent brand, though. I usually end up making a mess...but they seem to have perfected the art. The brand they generally seem to use has a red backing, if that helps at all, lol.
I just bought some Glue Lines (by the makers of Glue Dots) and they're awesome...and come in 1" strips. They're a bit thick, though...I'd like some thinner ones. |

I guess I should clarify - I'm talking about double-stick "Scotch" type tape! LOL!

LOL yeah...that's what I was talking about in the first part...I can't get it to work right for some reason. I think it may be user error, though...LOL!

I use masses of double sided tape for all my cards that I make. Over here in the UK we have a shop called the pound shop - everything in it is a pound - and I get mine from there. it's about an inch wide and really sticky. It is actually in the DIY hardware section. I guess you'll have something similar over there

I use double sided tape all the time for cards. Mostly when sticking paper to paper/chipboard. For fabric to paper/chipboard, I use the glue dots. And, I use the Scotch brand--yellow plaid.

take it from me, you can't go wrong with 3M Scotch Permanent Double Sided Tape. I have used this stuff for years as a paper scrapper and now with my digital printables and never had a problem. I stock up on these at the grocery store, so convenient and inexpensive.
![]() Bree mentioned Red Line Tape which is sometimes also referred to as "Terrifically Tacky" tape. This stuff is pretty easy to find in various roll sizes and even sheets. It is the UBER adhesive because it will stick to everything! I have used it for sand, micro beads, and altering tins.

Bree, I love the Glue Lines. I just stretch them way out if I want them thinner!
