Default Oscar Night 2009

Who is your favorite to win?

Oscars are always a big deal for me. In years past, I'd always seen all the nominations for most of the major awards, had my little sheets out about who I thought would win, etc. Then I got married, had a family, didn't get out as much, made different choices in what I would watch, but Oscar night is still a fun night for me. I do watch the red carpet though I generally could care less about fashion and am not a celeb stalker. I just love the glitz, love the fun, love the movies, etc. DH always laughs at me because it's so not my usual thing to do. But one night a year, I get caught up in Hollywood.

So - if you care..who do you want to win tonight?

honestly I dont really watch those type shows. The movies I seem to really like are never nominated for any awards and arent the "popular" movies. For instance last year my daughter and I went to see Juno and I just could not understand the hype. While I loved the "idea" of the movie the language in the movie kinda killed it for me. (not bad language just kinda trying to hard to be different/cool/whatever). Ive seen a few of the movies that were nominated and just didnt get it. I think that Clint Eastwoods movie Gran Torino should have gotten nominated also so that kinda ticked me off that it was not

I couldn't pick anything on the poll! I haven't had an oppertunity to watch any of those movies yet, but I would love to see some of them, so it's not that I couldn't care less, I just ahven't gotten to it yet, hehehe. We love movies and have been big into watching the Oscars in the past, we just didn't get into it this year (or last). AND...don't shoot me...it's on opposite the amazing race, which we LOVE and will be watching tonight!

Darcy, ITA! I get so into all of the hub bub of the Oscars every year. I am anxiously awaiting being able to sit in front of the TV and see what happens.

I think that it's inevitable that Slumdog Millionaire will win. I haven't seen it, but I am reading the book (called Q&A), and the book is great.

I also think that Mickey Rourke will win (although I believe that Sean Penn should), and I hope hope hope that Anne Hathaway will win, but it will most likely be either Kate Winslet or Meryl Streep (who are excellent as well).

I think Sean Penn will win for Milk..and probably deserves it..Frank Langella was awesome in Frost/Nixon but I think Penn will beat him...Slumdog will take home the best movie...

I think Kate Winslet will win for The Reader (I think she's nominated for that...) or Meryl Streep for Doubt

was The Wrestler nominated too or no?

For whatever reason Slumdog Millionare is winning it all this season so it will likely get the best picture

I think heath Ledger is going to get his posthumous supporting actor oscar and I'd love to see Kate Winslet win the supporting and best actress awards, she is just awesome!!!!

I don't want to see it, it doesn't look the least bit interesting to me at all.

since hubby is home tonight, we won't be watching, since he could seriously care less.

I haven't watched any of these, but everything I have seen and heard, Slumdog Millionaire was by far the movie of the year.

I really want Frost/Nixon to win!
I love History so this movie was a fun one for me! Such dramatic portrayals, and so historically correct.
LOVED it!
I have yet to see Slumdog Millionaire, but I sure want to!

I can't really vote.... I care, but haven't seen any of the movies! Maybe one of my New Year resolutions should have been to see more movies!

it's not that I don't care, but I haven't seen any of the movies and really don't know enough about any of them to have an opinion. the awards are on in the background while I scrap though.

I LOVED Slumdog Millionaire, it was one of the best movies I have seen in a long time, very worthy of the Oscar!
