I finished Kisscut by Karin Slaughter today. She's becoming one of my favorites. I started on A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray.

I'm a big James Patterson fan as well! Though I stopped reading for like a year or so and he got SO far ahead of me in the 2 series (Cross series and Women's Murder Club) that I've never caught up! I'm really trying to find which of each of them I left off with and carry on.

I really loved them Manda-They were quick reads...and then fundamental theme good vs evil is one of my favorites!
I read the first two in less than a week and am waiting for the third to be in...HS kids are notorious for checking a book out and keeping it forever!

I just finished The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, it was fabulous! Nothing like anything I've read. It's a bestseller right now too!

It's such a shame, too. When I was in high school, I had read every paperback historical Christian romance in the library.

it was sooo much harder to get into than the twilight books, but finally feeling like i'm really into it!

I am reading Obsidian Butterfly by Laurell K. Hamilton. I have been reading the entire series. I am more than halfway thorugh now. There are 17 books so far in the series and this one is #9.

LOL! I get most of my reading done before falling asleep - I can't sleep unless I read first, actually...I'll just lay there for hours awake. But I can read for an hour or so and after I've dropped the book for the second time, I know it's safe to put it away, turn off the light and sleep, lol.

I've started reading during some of the times I'm nursing the baby and spending a few nights a week reading instead of scrapping and surfing. It's working well, but I do feel like I'm missing a lot of what goes on in the forums these days.

I just finished the Twilight saga and am about to reread them. I also read the partial 5th book that Stephenie Meyers released on her website, Midnight Sun. Midnight Sun was Twilight from Edward's point of view, and reading it gave me a lot more insight into Edward's character and his early days with Bella. (http://www.stepheniemeyer.com/midnightsun.html Stephenie put it up there because she no longer wanted to work on it after copies were illegally posted online.)

I read Handle With Care just before that. I was enjoying it up until the last few pages, but the ending ruined the book for me.

I haven't finished the Harry Potter series, so I may go back and start those over after I finish the Twilight books.

It took me a couple of books to get into them. At first Anita's hard-headed personality really turned me off, and she honestly hasn't gotten much better, but it seems to work as far as the stories go. I guess I don't have to like the main character to enjoy the books. I lurve Jean Claude. ♥♥♥

I just checked the author's website and it appears that the Anita Blake Vampire series is going to be made into a TV Series. That should be interesting. It is on the front page of her website HERE.

I have the first 2 books of the Merry series, but haven't started reading them yet. I usually will give a series 2 books before I commit to reading any more of it.

What I like about the Anita Blake series is that the books are relatively easy to read, there is tons of action, and there is always a very climatic ending. When I get toward the end of the book I can't for the life of me stop reading cuz I just have to find out what happens.

I did read somewhere that she would be eventually releasing it but, put it on the back burner to work on a sequel to The Host (I think I'm remembering the right sequel!)

I'm currently reading Obsession by Jonathan Kellerman. I haven't read his in a while so, I grabbed a few at the library. I finished the newest Jefferson Bass book a week or so ago, can't remember the name though!! LOL And, I have another Kellerman book and 2 Linda Fairstein books waiting for me. I'm playing catch up.

I also have The Host on reserve, last I checked I was #66 on the list!! And, I got DH to buy me Twilight so I can reread that series. Twilight was a borrowed book and then the rest were bought for me but, I couldn't reread with out the first!! It'll be the first time I've EVER reread books! I'm horrible in that I tend to remember the end halfway through!! LOL

Oh, and my reading time is either in the car, I usually make DH drive!! Or, I'm a big take a bath and read person, That's my escape!! LOL

I finished reading Handle With Care last night...I'm so torn to whether I loved it or hated it, lol...so hard to know sometimes with her! I ended up giving it 4 stars (out of 5) because I enjoyed it all the way until the end.

I have no idea what to read next...probably some light chick-lit...I've read too many "heavy" books in a row now.

As the mother of a child with a genetic condition (who is doing very well), I was intrigued with the post here about Handle with Care - I read the spoilers and after seeing the ending there is NO way I could read that book!

For the Women's Murder series are they are gruesome as some of his other work? I really like his books but honestly some of them give me nightmares! DH and I have agreed to NEVER mention some of the parts of Kiss the Girls to each other.

I also love all of Jodi's books!! I can't do My Sister's Keeper though - I know how it ends (a friend ruined it for me) and I don't think I can do it. And I always have to take a little break after I finish one of her books. I tend to get really involved in my books. I think I was actually a little depressed myself for a week or 2 after Nineteen Minutes....but I love how she really makes you think and examine both sides of an issue. I always need a "fluff" book after though! Handle With Care is on my bookshelf waiting for me.

Right now I'm reading Fallen Skies by Phillipa Gregory. Sometimes I love Phillipa Gregory and sometimes I hate her. I loved the Other Boleyn Girl and the others in that series, but I couldn't stand the Wideacre books. Actually, I liked the first one a lot, the second one was OK, but by the 3rd one I was just too disturbed!! Fallen Skies is pretty good so far.

My book club just read the God of Small Things and I was extremely disappointed. It had been on my "Must Read" list for quite awhile and it was my pick for book club and I didn't even finish it. I hated it. I just couldn't get into it and halfway through I still had no idea what it was even about and I couldn't keep the characters straight. Has anyone else read that? I really wanted to like it....it sounded awesome.
