Unhappy Lauren + Urgent Care....

= how i started MY Sunday! how did you start YOURS!??!!?

hahahah

i woke up Sat. morning w/ hives on my legs, which got worse and worse as the day went on... they moved and grew quickly, by the time i went to bed, my legs, hips were covered... i woke up at 5 am in SUCH itchy/stinging pain and was seriously covered in hives that i was worried they would start moving onto my FACE! EEK!

so i went straight to urgent care (and had to plunk down $100, which DH was not so happy about...)...

they said i had an allergic reaction to something (duh!) and i had to have a steroid inection in my hip!!!!

now i'm on a steriod/benedryl drug coctail for the next 6 days!

the steriods are helping the bumps go down, but they are still SO itchy!

hopefully tomorrow i'll be a bit better.

thanks for listening to me whine... sometimes it just makes me feel better to be a big baby for a little bit tee hee

hope ya'll are enjoying a beautiful sunday!!!!

xooxoxo

oh no! The exact thing happened to me last week, complete with steroid injection! My hives were on my neck and arm though. So I can totally relate! I'm so sorry you had to start out your day that way and I hope you are better really soon!

Oh no! You poor baby. I hope the hives go away and that the itching/stinging subsides. Do you have a followup appointment with an allergist? I hope you get relief soon.

Shame on dh for thinking about that $100 when his wife was having troubles like this...and it could have been extremely dangerous!!

I doubt this could be it...but could be an irritant to make things worse...did you change the laundry soap/softener in your laundry? I broke out really really bad years ago when I went to stay at my mom's house...we figured it out that it was her laundry soap....it only affected me at night and what touched the sheets...until I washed some of my clothes then I broke out all over! Did you eat some new food you hadn't had in years? New meds of any kind?

Have dh go get you some Aveno oatmeal bath and see if it will help you get a little relief!

Hope you get to feeling better quick and that you figure out what caused this so you can avoid it in the future!

yikes...I had a similar reaction to something not long ago. Mine went away after a day or two for the most part so I didnt end up in urgent care

OMG! I feel so bad for you. My daughter had issues with hives a few months ago and they still flare up from time to time. They are related to an auto immune disease though. She was out of school for 10 days and we had 3 Urgent Care Clinic visits, One ER visit and 2 visits to the Pedi in one week!!!
Here is a picture on one of her worst days:

View with caution.....this looks like it hurts!!

I hope you feel better soon Lauren! I have only had hives a few times but I deal with itching eyes and nose from allergies daily! Itchiness drives me crazy!!!!

i'm going to call my regular dr. tomorrow and get a referral... i was told that they probably won't be able to figure it out, but to me, it's worth a shot!

i tried my best to figure this out, but nothing sticks out as a trigger... i've been using the same dye/fragrance free detergent for a while and no new foods or anything.

dh thinks it's the new kitten.... we had him for about 2 weeks before i started getting little hives (like just a couple tiny ones on my arm sporatically, but never this bad!) but we have had another cat for a year and didn't have any reactions to her...

so weird, right?!

oh your poor daughter!!! yeah mine are like hers, but larger and ALL over. are they able to control her auto immune issues? how did they figure out she had an auto immune disease?

i honestly wouldn't be surprised if i had the same... in February i had some
mystery illness that the drs couldn't figure out... i was SUPER fatigued for seemingly NO reason and nauseous all the time. it passed after a few months.

i'm not normally a sick person, so this has been SUCH an off year for me... i must be allergic to Texas!

xooxox

and sorry for everyone else who's had to deal w/ hives, they really do suck!

I am very allergic to something that blooms in Texas in July. Not clue what it is, but it doesn't bloom in June or August. So maybe you are!
