Default Hiding an object in your layouts...

A long time ago I read about someone that hid an object in every one of their layouts. Then their kids could have fun looking for that object when they were looking through the scrapbook. Kind of a "Where's Waldo" kind of thing.

I have been thinking about that lately, and think it would be really fun! Does anyone here do that? I can't decide what kind of object would be the best. Any ideas?

I don't but it does sound cool...kind of like Gold Bug in some of the Richard Scarry books (my boys love that silly little bug!)

I remember someone did a layout with tons of horses and had us all finding how many horses we could find... it was fun

Anything would do I think, first thing that came to mind was a lollypop (don't ask why)

A while back I put a heart on every layout... most of the time hidden a bit. But then I drifted away from doing that. I should have kept doing it!

A little heart was the first thing that came to mind for me as well... that's an awesome idea. Or a small stitched star or heart (easier to hide if the stitches are thin). Or your childs first initial? I love this idea! I'm going to start a Disney trip book and I think I might just hide a small Mickey on each page!

Oh my gosh, that sounds so cool! I like the heart idea or how about a butterfly. It could just be an outline of one. That's what came to mind when I first read your post.

I used to have a friend who put a little set of Mickey Mouse ears in every layout. She was a paper scrapper and just used a teeny little Mickey punch (about the size of a hole punch). I thought that was such a neat idea!

I forgot who it was, but someone purposely misspells something on every LO. One time I PMed her to let her know and she told me it was intentional lol.

Haha - to each their own, I suppose?

Hidden Mickey's is what came to my mind! Apparently it came to a few other people's minds too!!

A lot of artists put something of theirs "hidden" in paintings. Not that I can think of any examples right now but I have seen it/heard of it!

That is a wonderful idea. I like all the suggestions I'm seeing here. The first thing that came to my mind was a little 'kiss' like some cute lips or xoxox. I never sign a note, email, card or anything for my kids without putting a kiss or xoxox on it.

FUN ideas girls!! The hidden Mickey in Disney albums sound like fun!! Manda, can't wait to see the hidden taco!

I have heard of artists do this with their creations. Thomas Kinkaid does that- he paints his wife or daughter's initial into his paintings.

A heart, butterfly, or kiss sounds great for my pages since I have girls.... I'll have to keep thinking about what exactly!

WHAT a super cute idea!! I'm going to start working on an EOL album starting in January and it'd be fun to incorporate objects to find in it!

This is a rocking idea. I might do it this year since I only have 3 LOs done so far (DS Bday is 12-8 and the "year" starts then)

that is such a cute idea! reminds me of Al Hirschfeld who hid Nina (daughter's name) in his drawings.

My father had one of his books and I remember as a kid looking through the book trying to find all the Ninas.

also Stephen Cartwright, children's book illustrator, hid a little duck in his drawings.

This sounds like so much fun! A few things came to mind.
The first letter of your last name.
Your initials, kinda like you're signing your LO.
The year. This wouldn't be wherever you put the date on the page, just a hidden 2007 or whatever.
Anyway. I think this is cool. I think I might have to start doing this! Love it! Thanks for the fun new idea Sara!

This is such a great idea! It would be fun, especially if you were working on an album as a whole. I have a Katie-bug, so it would be fun to make a mini-album for her, hiding a ladybug on each page.
