Activities for toddlers
I would post this on another board, but there are lots of ladies here so I know I'll get more responses...
I need some major ideas for activities to do with my kids during the day. My toddler has been constantly sick this season so I don't really want to take him out more than just giving him a few minutes of fresh air in my backyard when it's a bit warmer. I'm so sick of watching tv, specially the same exact dvd over and over but I'm so lost on what to do with them! We usually spend all our time outside

Here are some things I do with my 4 year old and 18 month old:
*Play-do: I bought a couple tubs and a bunch of cookie cutters - they each pick a color and we make fun things. *water color paints *Set up a train track on the coffee table and they walk around the table with their trains *read books *my boys love to get the broom and mop down and pretend to clean the kitchen floor *put on a kids cd and they sing and dance along *Cut out a bunch of shapes and let them glue them onto a piece of paper to make a picture *bake cookies, banana bread, etc. |

I just ran across this blog last week, I haven't had time to really look at past entries but there were some current projects that seem quick and easy but still fun

Rachel enjoyed finger painting with pudding or yogurt. It was messy, so she just wore a diaper/pullup, and afterwards it was definitely bathtime, but it was fun and she got to have snack at the same time. LOL

I bought a huge bag of beans at costco and dumped them into a rubbermaid tote (a big one- like the one you would put under a bed (low and long). I added a few cups, measuring spoons, etc and my little one would play for HOURS. Have fun!

My kids love puzzles too. My son started doing the basic ones at 2. They like to help with chores and cook! They love stirring stuff.
I love to do the classic fort stuff with the kids. Pulling all the chairs around in the living room and grabbing the blankets. They can drag in their cars/dolls with them under.
