making links clickable in sig tag

Okay I have tried and tried and even did a search on how to make
my blog link clickable in my signature. IS there a secret to this?
I have followed various directions and I end up getting this.
The following errors occurred with your submission:

1. BB code url is not allowed.

I don't see a link button in the signature making area, is there one where all you have to do is highlight, click and add url?

sorry if this has probably been ask a million and one times, I don't get it today.

i think it might be because you're new. you need a certain # of posts for a few things now (due to spammers).
