Probably the 24-70mm 2.8 just beacuse it give me a little bit of range (not far) & the 50mm.

I just bought the 35mm a few weeks ago and I plan on taking it with me this weekend when I go out of town!

First, it was my 50mm. Now it's my 24-70mm Tamron.
I'm sure that the next one I get will become a favorite as well, lol. I'm renting a 70-200mm in a few weeks, but the next one on my list to buy is the 85mm.

This is me. Although, not sure I could call myself a serious photographer. I just want to be when I grow up.

I love my new Canon 85mm 1.8 and also my Tamron 28-75mm 2.8, next up on my wish list is the Sigma 30mm 1.4!! I also have the 50mm 1.8 and used to use it a lot but now that I have the other two it doesn't get much use these days.

I have the Tamron 28-70 mm 2.8 too and love it. Here's a couple of images I shot with it:

Wow. My color looks way off in that last one. The print looked awesome. Wierd. Anyway, I hope that helped.

WSS. The 24-70 2.8 rarely leaves my camera. When it does, it gets replaced with my 50mm 1.8. I'd love a 1.4 but until I start generating some income again (weddings in a year or so, can't be away from the baby long enough to successfully shoot a wedding & reception), it's just on the wish list.

I use my Tamron 28-75 lens a lot for everyday use. But I'm a prime girl. My best quality pictures come from my 100mm 1.8 macro lens. I love it. Next on my list to buy is either the Sigma 30 or the Canon 135. I have gotten amazing pictures using my friends 135. Have fun shopping!

I'm in agreement here! I love my Nikkor 24-70 2.8. I never take it off my camera (although it's huge and I usually end up smacking my kids in the nose with it)!! LOL! I also like my Nikkor 85mm 1.4. It's a nice lens.

My favorite is the 70-200 2.8IS, but the one that's on my camera most often is the 50mm 1.4.

Ditto, but the weight of it takes getting use to. I didn't like my 24-70 at first, now I love it.

But, for the money, my 85 1.8 is amazing! So sharp!

I have the 50mm 1.8, Sigma 30mm 1.4, and my NEWEST baby is the 85mm 1.8!

oh, and I got a speedlite, too - which SERIOUSLY - why did I wait so long? I was totally intimidated and it turns out that its so easy to use!

but back to your question...I love them ALL...I love having the perfect lens for every situation ;o)

oh - that 85mm is CRAZY sharp. Seriously. I will post a pic later tonight (at work now)...it's freakin' awesome!

But riddle me this girls - how far away do you have to be to use a lens like a 100mm? or even the 135? As much as I love the 85mm, I'm finding it to be a tiny bit hard to use in "everyday situations" - like the kids on the slip and slide and stuff like that.

I can't wait to see a picture...here is my thing....do you use your 85 for everyday use? I find that trying to use my 50 mm indoors is hard sometimes...I LOVE the clrity of it {when I get it right} but wondered if I woudl like the 85 or 24-70 better? I am going to rent the 24-70 next and see how I like it

I don't use my 85 everyday. My 24-70 is always on my camera inside, just remember when you rent it, if you don't have super steady hands you're not going to get the sharpest photos unless you're using a high shutter speed. At least I had that problem. I'm use to it now.

But to me, unless you're planning on starting a biz or something, the 24-70 is way too expensive. About $1400. I'd go with the Tamron version, cheaper and I think the focal lenght is about the same.

If the 50mm is too tight inside, you'd want to go to a 30/35mm not an 85mm.

ETA: The Tamron version is 28-75.

I really love my 85mm but there is no way I could use it as an everyday lens especially in my small house (that's why I want the Sigma 30mm 1.4), even at the park the other day I was having trouble because the kids kept getting way too close to me lol. So my Tamron 28-75mm is my everyday lens and I don't have any trouble using it inside (I'd love to have the Canon 24-70mm but would rather upgrade my camera body and add a few other lenses to my bag before dropping $1400 on just one lens).

Here is one of my very first shots with the 85mm taken in manual at about 8:30pm, this is SOOC with just MCP's web size and sharpening action ran on it -

and two taken with the Tamron 28-75mm -
