and totally thought/dreamt about the ending of the movie all. night. every. moment. awake. or asleep.
I absolutely loved the movie because Tyler is just so quirky and loveable and adores his sister, which is totally sweet. But then when he's in his dad's office and sees the screen saver and seems to reconcile with his dad, and then I realized what date it was. ACK! Started bawling uncontrollably once I thought about what must be coming. I've had a very emotionalollercoaster type relationship with my dad, and he's become ill and it is at the point where I have to decide whether to initiate contact with him after 6 years of not speaking. So it hit me hard about my dad. But then all night I dreamt about those last scenes. And when I wasn't dreaming I was thinking about them. I feel a bit foolish getting so emotional over a movie, but man, it really affected me. Anyone else have this kind of reaction to the end of the movie? I just don't want to be the only geek to have really gotten attached to the characters. ![]()

yea it effected me like that too. I just thought it was a kinda cheap way to really bring out the emotions. To me having the son and father reconcile their relationship would have been a way more powerful ending.

You're not alone!! lol, LOVED that movie! And, honestly I only rented it, because I love twilight, and was curious if Rob Pattinson was a good actor, outside of twilight... It's funny, I didn't see Edward AT ALL in that movie. But I was so into it, and I knew something was going to happen - I actually thought Tyler had plans to reconcile with his dad, then commit suicide in his office, so his dad would be the one to find him... lol, boy was I off!! Once I saw the date though, I started bawling. And when I told dh about the movie afterward (he didn't want to watch it with me), I started crying again.
