Default Anyone else?

Is there anyone else out there who is a ridiculously slow scrapper?? Like, it takes me hours to create a layout using a template...which is why I hardly ever even try to create without a template, that could take DAYS or WEEKS! I think it has gotten worse since I got pregnant. Maybe it's a temporary pregnancy creative fog that will get better in time?

I'm almost totally reliant on templates these days. I CAN scrap without them, but who would want to when I have Cindy's fabulous templates at hand? LOL! Even when I use a template it takes me anywhere from 2 to 5 hours to complete a page. If it's a very layered 2-pager it'll take me a couple of days to do.

Yeees! I always feel like a dunce though, because so many people bang out such amazing layouts in such a short period of time. The 2-pager I've got going I've been working on for 3 days, and the one-pager I just finished took me like 8 hours. A basic LO usually takes me about 3 hours.

I can't use templates. I think of all the pages I've done with templates, I've only ever liked one.

I'm so slow! I can spend an hour just deciding which photos and kit, and an average LO probably takes me 3-4 hours. Once in a while I amaze myself by finishing something in 1.5 hours, but most LOs take me 2 days.

Me! No matter how hard I try, I can't speed up the process. I spend a lot of time picking out photos and the right kit and I will haggle over every little detail until I am satisfied.

I am. It can take me days to complete a layout. On rare occasions, I can knock out a page in an hour.

It doesn't take me long to do a LO, it's the shadowing that takes me the longest. I spend a lot of time on my shadows.

And with a template, I did a two pager for Cindy (coming soon to a Sweet Shoppe near you) and it took me ALL day long to do it.

I'm a template dunce and it takes me about 10 times as long to scrap with a template. I try, because I love what other people can do with templates, but I usually have a really hard time with them. Right now I've got about 20 unfinished layouts because pregnancy hormones steal my mojo so that I don't like anything I create, or that everything is missing "something". For me the "finishing" is the hard part. Rarely I do create quick layouts that I absolutely love, and I usually like them more than the ones I spend hours on.

Yes! I hem and haw about papers and the color and placement of ellies and when I'm done I'm still like, "that doesn't look anything like what the sugarbabes create." lol

Count me in the club! I'm slow as Christmas. It takes me about 2 hours to do a regular layout.

I think I'm a very slow scrapper, sometimes it takes me several evenings to perfect a LO. It does happen that I do things in 30 minutes, but that's more an exception than a rule.

I don't use templates much as it takes me MORE time to scrap with them, but that's just me, I think. :-)

Let me add that as far as I know, this isn't a speed competition, so we shouldn't even think about slow or fast, it's the fun and the result that counts. :-)

I wouldn't say I'm a slow scrapper, more of an easily distracted scrapper lol! I have to have my browser open and mess around on FB, read the news and other time wasting things like that, I normally put a few elements on my page, go to my browser for 5 minutes then go back to PS, and repeat!

Add me to the list of snails - I dont mind it since I really love to play - from editting photos - choosing the right words and titles - and playing with every detail. Ive been that way for over 5 years and havent been pregnant. Cant see anything changing it in the short term.

I am a very slow scrapper. Very seldom do I get a layout finished in one day. It has taken me 3 days to get our Christmas cards done. Most layouts take me two days. I never have a huge chunk of time to get it done in one sitting. Templates help me go a little faster but I would much rather make a layout from scratch.

LOL this is exactly what I meant. I also have music on and have to change teh music periodically and sometimes it takes me awhile to choose something I like.

yep, I'm super duper slow too. Which is why you don't see me scrapping more.... because I'm also a slow designer.

Woohoo, slow scrappers unite! I am most definitely in this club. 3 hours is about as fast as I go and often it's even longer than that, like 5-6 hours. Last week I tried to give myself a two-hour time limit and yeah, totally didn't happen. I'm totally amazed by those of you who can churn out a page in an hour or less.

I don't find templates really speed up the process that much for me either, probably because it's all the details and shadowing and things that take so much time, not the basic design. Plus I don't tend to follow templates exactly so I still spend time adjusting them to suit my design style.

ha, I do this too although I've been trying to really cut back on it lately. I think it's definitely helped speed things up a bit more. I'm able to finish in more like 3-4 hours rather than 5-6.

I'm definitely a slow scrapper and distracted too I've had a few pages come together really quickly but they're definitely the exception. I'm go with the flow and detail oriented, so speedy's not happening.

I'm a slow scrapper, but I actually like it that way. I play around, fiddle with a shadow here, add another element there. Try about every paper in the kit as background... (one of my biggest time killers, I change the bg several times on almost every layout I do)

For me all this messing around and perfecting little things is part of scrapping. And as I'm not on any CTs at the moment, I don't have anything to worry about. I use templates, too. I'm with Jacinda here: I could go without, but why would I want to? They make me more creative. There have been times long ago when I could finish a layout in one evening session. But I like my slow ones much better. For me good layouts take time.

I am a slow scrapper too, and envy those who can do a page in an hour. Even when I have the whole day to scrap, I might get 2 or 3 pages finished. But typically with every day life and kids interrupting me every five minutes, it takes me a couple of days to finish one page.

Yeah, the CT thing is the only reason it even matters to me! I used to be able to keep up pretty easily, but right now I am struggling a little. That might be the holidays, too.

Glad to see I am in good company here!

That is just one of the many reasons I quit all my CTs. I was just so tired of feeling so slow. I just cannot crank out a LO in less than 2 hours no matter what it seems. Most take 4 and with my reduced time for scrapping as the boys have gotten more busy, I just couldn't handle the stress. Course now I'm looking at my "to be processed" folder on my computer of my photos and curse myself for having a YEAR's worth of photos in RAW still. I'm thinking I'm going to never start scrapping back up fully again!

Good to know at least a few of the Babes are slow too! I'm in good company then!
