Default Did you see this?

http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/cri...man.cnn?hpt=C2

This is where I live. These are people I know. The lady who came in and tried to knock the gun out of his hand w/ her purse is in my family (hubby's second cousin's wife). The second man shot at was a good friend of mine from high school. So scary. It's a miracle that everyone but the gunman survived. An absolute miracle.

I did see that. Scary and amazing no one was killed. I do have to ask, what the heck was she thinking knocking him with her purse was gonna do?

She was trying to knock the gun out of his hand. I know it seems like something that she should not have done, but she was trying to get the gun out of his hand and save them all.

I know you never know what you would do in a situation like that, but wow, that would not be the right thing to do. But then again, had it worked she could have easily saved a life.

that is scary!!! I'm surprised they showed so much... but I agree thank god no one was hit... they looked very close, very scary.

One thing I guess people might not know yet fully... I guess the gunman ended up killing himself?? so in his mind it was a murder suicide thing i guess?? he just didn't plan on missing??

so terrible! but true miracle!

We saw that on the news last night & I was trying to figure out if I knew anyone in there, but I don't think I do. How brave of Mrs. Littleton! & how scary for your friends & family! So glad everyone (minus him) is okay!!

I watched this last night on the news down here and was amazed that the gunman was really very calm about the whole thing. What an awful situation. I'm glad your friends and family are ok Kresta.

Yes, suicide by cop (or, former cop in this case). You know, my husband and I were talking last night about it -- I was wondering if he didn't miss on purpose. Ya know, start shooting so someone would come in and kill him. But after watching the video so many times now, I think he just missed. I've also been told he had another clip of ammo in his shirt pocket. So I think he definitely had plans to take everyone out w/ him.

So scary. Thanks for sharing. I hope your friends, family and community are ok. I attend many of our school board meetings and things get very heated, especially with the budget situation.

I was actually just coming on to ask. I had thought of it later. They kept mentioning his wife, but do they if that is for real yet? Or haven't announced anything.

Well, I haven't seen/heard anything from the wife, but I heard someone say they thought she had been a teacher and then a paraprofessional (teacher's aide) and then, I guess, was let go. Not sure.

I saw the video many times on the news already. I swear in the video the guy who was shot at first looked like he was hit. So sad when people think this is their only option too. I did not hear on the news why was he so angry? (if it said I must have missed it)

My kids happened to be home with me when this was on the Today show. A great discussion topic for my teens. So glad everyone (except the crazy person) is OK.
