Default My son is emailing a GIRL!

He's sending his first email to a girl. She's been the girl he's been infactuated with since they were preschoolers. They're just friends, but still...

awww... how sweet! Hugs to the mama, though... that would be a tough one for me to handle, too... my kid is only 4 and I feel unsure when he hugs Miss Caroline who is 3 - my son is smitten with her... it's like in the movies when you get a flash forward into time and he is like 16 hugging a girl... NOOO!!! Not until you are 30!!!

LOL. Is that the one who thinks *** is gross and never wants to get married? Because then I believe it will be fairly innocent. Just remember, at that age "going together" means nothing. Usually they aren't even doing that, they go nowhere together.

exactly!

Ginger - they aren't going together and aren't even thinking along those lines. It's just the phase we're going through now of the fact that he's wanting to email anyone...and most especially a girl. We caught him looking at a girl last night at Whole Foods and just had to chuckle. We're just moving into that time. This wasn't supposed to happen in my Mom's mind until he was at least 25...older would be better

LOL! I don't envy you at all, Darcy . . . that stage where they're first interested in ANY person outside their family is tough to handle. **HUGS**

About a year ago my then 7 year old told me he wanted the laptop in his bedroom & he wanted me to get him a yahoo ID so he could chat with Rose & Willa from school.

Yes my 7 year old wanted to shut himself in his room and talk to girls on the internet!!!!

I really figured I had another 6-8 years before that happened.

Shocking really but then he chatted a few times wiith the laptop on the living room & lost interest.

Good luck Darcy

Neither of my boys have shown much interest in girls yet. My 17 year old is really shy and the other one is more interested in video games at 13. Im kinda glad too because I remember the roller coaster ride teenage relationships were with my daughter and dont really look forward to it with my boys. Although I think girls are a little more dramatic about it so maybe it wont be quite as bad with them LOL. In any event I know how you feel just the opposite side of the spectrum

Ah. Cute. Well, maybe it's best then to let him write mails a lot. And when he discovers girls only talk about all that boring stuff he will turn away from them til 25 again.

Personally I have to say that my very first "love" interests have completely disappointed me that way. LOL The mini princes were not romantic, they were not even interesting. Once little me got all exited and actually TALKED to them, they said almost nothing.
AND they only had boring toys to play with, like He-Man or dinosaurs. And were boykotting all my attempts to play a story where He-Man had to rescue a playmobil princess from a dinosaur. Boys..I tell you...
