Default newbie printing question

I am about to print a book for my mom for Mother's Day (cutting it close I know!). Anyway, I scrapped it 12x12. Can I upload those pages for an 8x8 book or do I have to resize them all to 8x8 first? Probably a silly question but thanks for the help.

Where are you printing?

For all the books I've done... and printed mostly through Shutterfly... I scrap all my pages 12x12 and I don't resize them to print for an 8x8 book.

BTW - welcome to SSD!!!

With most sites I'm aware of, you should be fine. What a great gift!

For most printers you don't need to resize. However, keep in mind that the trim will be more noticeable at 8x8. The way most photobooks achieve a full, sharp edge printed page is to print the image slightly bigger and then trim the pages to the final size. The amount cut off is often the same for 12x12 or 8x8. But that means its a bigger percetage of the page, when you choose smaller formats. So keep all important stuff a bit away from the edges.

Depending on your printer there might be templates and/or actions available to check if everything is placed corrcetly for printing.
