The Reading Site?

I found this when googling ebooks - http://www.thereadingsite.com/index.html. This totally interests me @ $50/lifetime, but I'm not sure they'll have the books I want.

Does anyone subscribe? How are the books?

It feels like a scam. All of the blogs about it have ads linking directly back to the site, and tend to use the same wording (implying they may have been written by the same person or site). I can't find any wellounded reviews, and comments on the blogs "reviewing" it pretty much ONLY talk about that site- no other topics, and the comments are written in the same "voice" as the original post.

Furthermore, they refuse to show you what sort of books they offer (simply saying "Oh, we have a lot" and "Worldenowned authors"), and the blogs don't give ANY examples of books they've read after joining the site. If they had the authors that are as renowned as they say, they would be listing a few of them, at a minimum.

The site is loud, and has that pop up at the end saying "Don't miss out on this offer!" with Stay or Leave options. This automatically is a red flag to me, as well. Reputable sites typically do not do this.

Finally, it hasn't been around long, and makes no promises about a guarantee, making me think they'll take your money, and be gone in a month, once they've gotten their $50 from everyone.

And, there is a reason why books cost what they cost- there isn't an "unlimited" in the book industry, even in eBooks, for current bestsellers. Why? Because publishers and authors want their money. They're not going to offer it in this form.


I wouldn't sign up- I'm overall VERY skeptical of the site.
