Default Is your kiddo a good secret keeper? Mine's not.

So far I know I'm getting a blue (two different kinds of blue) flower painting that he made at school and a card that I had to make him hush about before he told me what it said too.

If hubby had actually gotten me a real present yet, I would probably know that too...good thing he's a last minute shopper.

So anyone else know what you're getting for Mother's Day? LOL!

LOL - my DD is a good secret keeper, although she only has to keep her own secret since it's just she and I.

LOL. My 7 year old was so excited about the flower recipe/photo clip he made me at school that telling me about it wasn't enough--he had to give it to me today! He's a mediocre secret keeper. He won't come right out and tell you the secret, but you hear lots of comments like, "I wish I could tell you about your present" and "I know what your present is!" My 5 year old and 2 year old? Forget it. They tell all as soon as they know.

since my boys are older now I dont get those cute homemade gifts they used to make in elementary school but my daughter always does something for me. I usually do not know until she gives it to me but alot of times she cannot wait either.

My 6yo told me I was getting a poem before he realized who he was talking to and clammed up. lol He's a little better than his 2 & 4yo sisters, but not much.

Mine told me today.

Landon "Mom, do you like money?"
Me "Yes"
Landon "You are going to be so excited on Mother's day!!!!" (he was jumping up and down he was so excited that I "liked" his gift.

So basically he told me without REALLY telling me. LOL

Back story.....I told my hubby I better be getting money about a week ago because of iNSD. I want to shop and enjoy my weekend here at SSD! SO, hopefully he decides to REALLY spoil me. I have no idea how much but I know that I am getting it thanks to Landon.

My daughter's excellent at keeping secrets since she's only 11 weeks old....haha! I have no idea what I'm getting.

I already gave my mom her gift last week because I couldn't keep it from her. So I guess you could say I kinda stink at keeping secrets from my mom lol.

Mine must be a good secret keeper...on Monday, I asked her what she did at school and she told me "it's a secret for you." I asked her if she worked on Mother's Day surprises and she said yes...but she hasn't said a word about it since...so YAY, I'll actually get surprised.

DH, on the other hand, can't keep a secret...I never get surprised by any gift from him (bummer). This year since he's on disability he really should NOT buy me anything, but he says he's still planning on getting our zoo pass renewed (it's on sale this month)...I have told him that's what I want for Mother's Day every year until further notice.

emma is not.

we had this conversation the other night as i was getting dinner out of the oven.

emma: "mom, do you like those things, those potholder things?"
me: "well, i guess. i mean, i like them since i don't burn my hands when i use them."
emma: "oh. well, that's good....did you know i made you something at school for mother's day?"
me: "no! how fun!"
emma: "yah. it's a surprise though. i can tell you if you want me to though. if you like your potholders you'll like my surprise."

I *think* someone made me some potholders lol

LOL these are hilarious!

I bought myself my Adobe Design Suite a couple of weeks ago, so I called that my Mother's Day gift. Tony better not buy me anything else, because that was a TON more money than we ever spend on such holidays! Usually I get something small, and cards from the kids. I don't need anything, to be honest, I'd be happy with a day alone to scrap

I'm getting a May calendar. And I only know that b/c I'm the only one who EVER goes through Luke's backpack. And when I pulled it out I said, "Oh a May calendar..." He yelled, "DON'T LOOK AT THAT! Aw, man. That was for mother's day." LOL

oh, there are some funny stories on here. Nicholas (he's 4) keeps telling me he worked on a surprise at school this week, but he actually hasn't told me what it is yet. Which surprises me.

For Christmas, his dad & I each took him shopping for a present for the other that he would choose. As we were telling him about it, he instantly shouted, "I wanna get Mommy a necklace!" We explained about surprises, then his dad took him first, they were seriously back in like 30 minutes and he right away yells, "I got you a heart necklace!". So we explained it again. Then I took him shopping for his dad and he just kept telling me he wanted some candy or a smoothie. I had to call his dad ask for a list of a few things he wanted, then tell Nicholas to choose 1 and then we looked for that and picked one out. I think his dad had an easier time shopping. lol

My daughter made me a card and gift and for some reason thought a really good place to hide it was in the cabinets underneath my bathroom sink - something I open every day to get my hair dryer, etc. So needless to say, I see it every day just sitting there, but she still thinks I haven't "seen" it. So I will have to act surprised when she gives it to me.

How cute!

For once my boys are keeping their mouths shut...It's amazing. I have a Mother's Day Tea at school tomorrow with Paul, and he will NOT tell me anything about it.

I think so.

He said he was making me "something" at school but he can't tell me what.

DH?

No.

I got my BIG mother's day gift about 2.5 weeks early becaue he can't keep a secret.
