Default Wasps!

Oh how I hate those horrible little insects... they usually are around in mass in the mid to late summer... however today, kiddo and I were going to sit on our deck - one of the very first days it has been actually really nice and no damp chilly wind from the Northeast... and what is out there, but close to 10 of them!! I just hope we don't have a nest somewhere... but I don't know why they like our decks so much... it's like they are "eating" on it...

I could just cry - another summer where we can't enjoy our backyard because of those crappy insects!!!

I HATE WASPS!

They probably are paper wasps and they probably are out looking for new homes to start. We have our house professionally sprayed for bugs (we live in TX next to an open field so its a necessity) and they spray the outside of the house as well. They spray the kiddos wooden playset as well otherwise they build nests there too. I hate those little buggers as well. I guess they are supposed to be useful because they eat caterpillars which could eat gardens/crops, but I'm going to ask the Lord when I get to heaven why he likes them so much! Doesn't help I'm scared of them.

I just assumed they were the work of the Devil.... I wondered what they were suppose to good for... I don't mind bees, but the wasps aren't needed.

I'll look into a spray around here... we just don't know where they are settling, just hope not in the ground!

Both of my older two kiddos got stung by wasps at our lake house this weekend. My daughter got hit once on the arm. I just thought it was random; it didn't cross my mind to look for a nest. Then about an hour or two later, my son was in the same area on the porch and got stung on the leg, the arm and the finger (I guess it got his arm and finger when he was shewing it away from his leg). Poor things! Hubby sprayed them all, but we'll definitely have to keep checking under the railing, etc., throughout the summer.

I join you in wasp dislike. It's about the only insect I kill, because I'm afraid of them. I have a spray of some kind and if they venture inside, I use it. I suffer them on the balcony, but it's really annoying if they're there. :-( Whatever else flies, creeps and crawls on the balcony I find tolerable, but wasps give me the creeps.
