Default Ouch....tata holders for large ladies are pricey!

I vowed to my friends and hubby that I was going to buy a bra that fits me properly, and be sized by a pro, and get an exercise bra that fit right too so that I can do my treadmill and Jillian workouts without additional health problems. Like black eyes. Don't believe me? Found out today that I am a K cup. K. As in not E, F, G, H, I or J. K. Egads.

But man alive I did not expect to pay $175 for an exercise bra! What are prices like in the states for those sizes? I may have to go across the border for my next ones if the price difference is good enough.

Anyone have a good lead on affordable large cup bras?

I love my Enell sports bra. I think I paid around $80? They say the sizing is up to DDD, but I was an H cup when I got my first one, and it was perfect.

I hear ya... I'm cuurently a 30J and they don't make nursing bras my size so I have to pay extra for alterations... sigh

Even if I were to have a breast reduction, I still would have to pay a ton for bras because most start at size 32 for rib cage and when I'm at my goal weight my rib cage measurement is 28 so again I have to pay extra for alterations... sigh

http://www.barenecessities.com/ ships to Canada and I've heard good things about them for large chested women

I agree... my J cup girls fit in my Enell sports bras... granted I have to really stuff them in there but they fit.

Oh thanks for the lead Heather...I'll try one of those out to see how they fit. And my next exercise bra will be an enell for sure! Especially if they are that much cheaper!

I LOATHE bra shopping. But when I do go there is a little boutique that I go to. Last time I was measured I was a J cup but that was when I was pg. I think I paid around $40 for that bra- I think the brand was Goddess or something like that.

I buy my regular bras from www.brasthatfit.net They ship to Canada for free with a $50 order, and the bras are fairly priced IMO. I love the Elomi and Goddess brands for big tatas.

I don't remember where I got my Enell sports bras at...but I am sure if you shop around a little online you can find a place that ships to Canada cheap. Good luck!

I think a lot of running stores carry the Enell... at least my local running store does... but my local specialty bra store doesn't... not sure if you have a running store near you, but you could check there and save on shipping.

I adore my Enell bras that I bought after reading another thread here. Seriously, I don't exercise without them now.

For everyday bras, I get the balconette bra from Lane Bryant. They offer extended sizes online and those things are like iron. They're all I wear.

ugh, story of my life! Im pretty tiny, just have big tata's. Which you would think is a good thing....its not. Bra's never fit without paying a small fortune! Not even nursing bras...surely more than just a handful of people need a nursing bra bigger than a C cup??? Most tops dont fit me either, i just spill out all over the place, and unfortunately, im not keen on splashing cleavage around! Anyway, just wanted to commiserate. Im in Sydney so im not much help reccomending anything!

Just in case - Bravissimo has DD-K cups (including sports bras and nursing bras), rib cage size starting from 28 - they are not cheap, but not extremely expensive either, and even with shipment it's more practical than alterations I think. It's possible to return goods within 30 days of delivery and they ship overseas.

I'm totally happy with products they offer (I'm 30H). I was frustrated for year for having to wear 32Fs and Gs, because ribcage 30 and cup H are an unheard-of thing on the continent.

Who knew we had such big boobies around here? I don't qualify, but I remember my mama having a hard time finding bras to fit when I was a kid. She wore an H or an I cup I think. I didn't get her big boobies. Mine are either a C or a D depending on how much weight I gain or lose. When I am on the thin size (not even close now)... my C cups end up being a bit too big on me. I think I lose most of my weight in my boobs when I lose weight!

Good luck in finding something more economical.

Enell was the ONLY one that worked for me when I was bigger. Now that I've shriveled up I can wear the Champion "Maximum Support" ones, but I think they only go up to D.

I am not sure what my size is in US measurements, but I am so glad I got a boobjob the other way (no idea how it's called in English). I went from a 90H to a reasonable 85C now. And I only pay like 60-80$ for a bra now. Even cheaper if I want to.

You were approximately 40H and now you are 38C. I'm not really sure about the cup recalculation, but I buy my bras in UK and the ribcage size is converted like this: 28 = 60, 30 = 65, 32 = 70 etc.

I'm totally not a fan of boob operations, but with 90H (US 40H) I can very much understand that you went for it!

Title Nine carries the Enell bras. I think I paid about $80 for my sports bra.

www.titlenine.com

I get my everyday bras at Lane Bryant.

I'm a 38DDD but hoping I lose some of that with the weight I'm losing.

Good Lord, I was thinking the same thing. Some of you poor ladies. I'll stick with my C cups, sometimes those feel too big.

Did you try Pennington or Addition-Elle? That's where I used to buy them. Addition-Elle (the boutiques - like at Rideau or St. Laurent), had bra specialist when I worked there and they had a big range of size. There was La Corsetière in Gatineau (Hull) on St. Joseph Boulevard, at Place Fleur de Lys, beside the Pennington's that was good, though I'm not sure it's still there. The lady was a pro and she had a great range of sizes.

I was a 42 DD and the bras were costly, but now that I'm 36C, I can get them at Costco - 2 Calvin Klein padded bras for 30 bucks! I couldn't believe it when I saw that, I wanted to dance in the alley, lol!

Wow! $175?! I was bummed when I saw the Enell's were $80. That was pricey for me, but we all know how important keeping those big old mama jammas up and in are. Especially when exercising.

I guess I am lucky then having a small cup size (B) but my problem is it works out to be a 44B - impossible to find here in NZ so I end up wearing built in shelf bra cami tops instead

Actually, I consider myself pretty lucky with my 30H, it was only frustrating when I couldn't find bras in my size. I think that's the story of us all - with big or small boobs - who don't fit into the conventional sizes. At least these days, with internet shopping, it's much easier to solve this problem than it used to be.

Glad to be of help. I *heart* Bravissimo, it has safed my life, in a way. And yes, their stuff is PRETTY, which is a bonus. From the choice in normal stores one might think that big-boobed girls don't need fancy bras. Ts-ts.

Found 3 local retailers that carry Enell bras so I am going today to try and find me one.

Will update you after my run today or tomorrow what I think! With all the great reviews though I am very hopeful!

Well, I bought me a size 2 Enell bra! The size 3 was a little loose up top. I did run with it yesterday and the difference is AMAZING! Even hubby was impressed. My tatas didn't hurt at all during my run! Thanks for the suggestion everyone!

BTW - locally it cost me $69 w/tax.

That's great! I was afraid they'd really jack up the price at the shops, but it sounds like (at least at the one you went to) they didn't. So glad it made a difference for you!

Ran again today and am so in love with this bra. I had it on and then a spandex running tank with a built in bra too and these tatas hardly had any bounce at all. Woohoo! I am sooooo excited!
