I LOVE Revenge. I think it's going to be a really good show. The acting is eh at times, but a lot of them are newbies. I expect it to get better.
I also really liked The Playboy Club... I think it has a lot more depth than I originally thought. I accidentally clicked on it on Hulu (meaning to click on the side before it), and was in the middle of changing Zach and ended up having to watch the first 5 minutes... by then, I was pretty hooked. I think it's going to be one of the stronger freshmen this fall. I watched episode one of the New Girl. I thought it was cheesy, felt a lot longer than 30 minutes, but by the end, really redeemed itself. That said, I'll give it a second chance, but I probably won't stick with it unless it really improves a lot. As for Up All Night, I'm still watching, but I'm also not a fan. I'm watching more for Will Arnett than anything. They're definitely not parents like me-- I'm just a different breed in that I'd rather stay home with my child. I think the show has it's giggles, but overall, it's a pretty strong miss for me. It was an almost-hit the first week, and the second week, it started to lose it for me. Am I the only one watching All Stars Top Model this year? I know it's not a new show technically, but it's got some new stuff to it, so I'm counting it, K? I think that it's okay, but I'm sick of Tyra. Why do I feel like there are a lot of more qualified people in the world to judge talent? And if I have to hear the word "tooch" one more time, I may have to stop watching. Also, this is only semi-new, because it's several weeks in, but is anyone else watching The Lying Game on ABC Family? I'm pretty intrigued with that one. Then again, I like pretty much all the ABC Family dramas... ETA: Dance Moms. I know it's reality, but. It's hilarious! As a former competition dancer, I know a LOT of moms (and some teachers/studio owners) who are like that. For me, it hits close to home in an awesome, hilarious, drama-filled way. Plus, it's fun thinking "Wow, I've been to that competition, it hasn't changed a bit," or "that's changed a LOT from when I was there."

I think it's hard for Monday night shows during football season. I would sure hate to have a show slated for then. Maybe if it sticks around until after football season, it will have a better chance because I really didn't think it was bad at all. |

I liked what I got to see of the Playboy Club but wasn't loving Pan Am. The story & the acting were ok but I didn't like the dialogue.

Woohoo, thanks Nikki! I was totally thinking this morning we needed a thread like this.
Here's my thoughts so far: Fave New Shows: The Secret Circle and Pan Am. Secret Circle I knew I'd like but Pan Am surprised me. I really loved the mix of glamour with the spyelated intrigue plus I thought Christina Ricci was really charming. Undecided: Ringer, Terra Nova: I watched the first episodes of both of these and while I liked them I'm not totally convinced I'll stick with them. I did like that Terra Nova was kind of a TV version of Jurassic Park. I didn't expect so much dinoelated action, haha. Biggest Disappointment: The New Girl. I love quirky comedies but I seriously hated this show. Had Adam and I not been watching together, I wouldn't even have watched the entire episode which is saying something. Not only was it not funny but Zooey's character was SO over the top, to the point where I honestly wanted to slap her. I mean, there's cute and quirky and then there's borderline how-does-she-function-in-society mental patient and Zooey was definitely channelling the later. I didn't believe for one second that any of those one-dimensional man children would have ever agreed to live with her, haha. It's a shame too because I think the show has potential but it needs to tone everything down and get a bit more rooted in reality to be funny. I know Fox has already picked it up for a full season because the ratings have been strong but a lot of the comments I've seen in recaps have been similar to mine so it'll be interesting to see if the ratings hold up over the course of the season. There's a couple of other shows I've recorded but haven't watched. Oh and in response to ANTM All Star Edition all I have to say is Tyra just gets crazier and crazier with each season. ![]() |
