Default Anyone know of any Dairy Free Cookie Recipes?

My cousin allergic to milk, my mom is looking for a dairy free cookie recipe to make for her this Christmas for cookie boxes she'll be passing out.

Any Ideas? I'm searching and not coming up with much.

So are you trying to find some that don't contain butter? I can't even think of any cookie recipes that call for milk.

Some you can substitute coconut oil or margarine (blech) or shortening

Also - you can substitute 1 TB flax seed oil and 3TB water for 1 egg. It isn't as good of a binder, but it's a good substitute.

I usually just substitute... I use semi sweet chocolate chips that are dairy free (I get mine at Trader Joes but you can find them many places) and I use almond milk or coconut milk and I use Earth Balance original or coconut oil in place of butter. There are lots of substitutes out there, tho, I usually avoid soy substitutes because I don't like the taste LOL. Earth Balance is my fave butter substitute because it tastes most like butter.

Yea, butter & I guess chocolate free. My mom doesn't do "fancy" stuff. LOL! Those all sounds like good ideas though.

I rarely bake with butter because it is so expensive here ($3.59 / block is the cheapest I've found, here in town it's almost $6!). I just use margarine. They might not taste as good, but it's what I always use, and everyone loves my baking!

yeh.. i just substituted everything for ce. Nowadays there are so many alternatives available. You can easily find dairy free choco chips/ butter& milk alternatives. They will produce a different texture with baking, but it works.
