Default Photography Question...

I saw this stunning photo on Pinterest ... image linked ...

Is it possible to achieve something like this with a p&s? I have THIS camera ... do you know if I would need to do anything special...do you turn off the flash even though it is dark?

Thanks for any help! I love this photo idea

You'd definitely want to turn off the flash. I think with a tripod you may be able to achieve a similar result. I have a little table-top tripod and I think I may have gotten it at Dollar Tree. If not, the camera department at any discount store (Target, WalMart) should have a little, inexpensive tripod that would work.

What a fun photo!

I took this a few years back with a P&S. It's not quite as clear as the pinterest one, but it achieved the look. I took a couple of test shots with just the lights beforehand so I knew what settings to use since little ones don't sit still for long...

i love that shot!

many P&S cameras have an auto mode - you might want to try that out! You definitely want to turn off the flash, but don't let the shutter speed get too slow or the image will be out of focus. Try increasing the ISO if you need to.

Editing software does a great job getting rid of noise - so I'd take noise over blur

good luck!!

Most photographers are willing to share their knowledge. Why don't you shoot her an email and ask what her settings were! Good luck!!!!
