Angry Mouse Woes

I have been having the WORST time with my mouse - I bought a new optical one - it is constantly jerky... soooo - I took it back - got another - same problem... I have tried Microsoft/HP/Logitech... all with varying degrees of "jerky" - not all the time - but a lot of the time. I have no conflicts with hardware - have checked everything, including different mousing surfaces... I give up.. - I am BAFFLED - and going crazy!! Any ideas?? I must be getting interference from something...

Is it wireless?
Mine was like that, and I replaced it with a mouse that plugs in (still optical) and the new one does great.

Yes - wireless - have just now plugged my old one back in - still optical - but plugs in and has the sensor "doo-dad" that sits on the desk... I have had it for years - but works great! I do however wish to have something a bit smaller / lighter. What brand do you have?

I use a wireless Logitech trackball. I love it. I have been using trackballs for years now. I got a wireless mouse when I got my laptop but after a few months went back to a trackball

I've had at least 5 Logitech wireless mice and haven't ever had a problem with any of them, so I dunno what to tell you!
