has Robin ever considered rewarding us a point or two on our portfolios for reading the monthly book?

Discussion participation? Scrap a page inspired by the book?

Here's a few ideas:
* discussion participation - you can definitely tell if someone read the book by how they answer the questions - we could link our participation thread link on our portfolio * favorite quote - have them put their favorite quote from the book with the page number where it can be found and then scrap a page based on the quote they chose |

As long as it's a book that hasn't been turned into a movie, scrapping inspired by the book would be cool. As for indicating the page for a quote, I think that might be difficult for a few - I sometimes read large print books if they're the only copy available and the pages may be different. And I noticed my Kindle versions don't have a page number, but have a "location" indicator. The discussion participation sounds like the best option, and if there's been a movie made based on the book, then have one question about something that was in the book but not in the movie (they always have something different).

Only problem with the quote with a page number is that some of us are doing audiobooks so we have no page numbers.

I totally agree with this! As for the quote, if you're on a reader, you could just state it's location indicator. As for the other print books, that's easy enough - they would just have to tell which edition they are reading. Another alternative would be to tell what your favorite quote was, who said it, and why. That would certainly prove you've read the book because you know the content in which the quote was made. But, I love your idea of the book made into a movie thing. We could talk about differences from the book to the movie to prove that we actually read the book. |

I know. 90% of the books I read are on my Kindle. But, we could just put the location indicator of where it is found. Or we could even put who said the quote, to whom, and why - which would certainly prove that we read it.

With an audiobook you don't have any location identifiers really since it is all audio, but I can certainly put who said the quote, to whom and why.
