Default Just realized how few photos I've been taking in the last year...

I wanted to do a layout of Aiden and his newfound love of text-speak, and I went into my generic picture folder, and all of his generic, just because, photos are at least 18 months-2 years old! He doesn't look anything like that now

Guess I'm going to have to break out of my event-momma mode and begin taking more pics just cause.

I get like that after taking 100's of photos in December....January and February of each new year have like zero photos in their folders!!!

Me too... I get into a rut where I take more "theme" photos... so when I need a generic photo, I'm searching and searching for something that would work... haha. And don't get me started on photos of just me!! That is a rare find, in my folders...

I don't have this problem, I must have taken 20 photos on my iPhone today of my 2 yr old doing random nothings. However the last 2 yrs my month of may folder is a lot smaller than the rest of the year, how bizzare that I don't take many photos in may!

I tell you I need to take more pictures too. When I was doing my yearly calendar back in Dec it was almost impossible for me to fill it up and then I also realized I have been neglecting to take pics of my 2nd oldest son. Such a bad mommy I am....shame shame on me.

I take a lot of photos but very few 'generic' ones. I take daily photos and themed photos and all of that but I guess I need to follow the kids around with a camera for a few days because I never have just a regular old picture to use when I want to do a layout.

Nothing a 30 minute photo shoot won't cure, right? (assuming a cooperative child, that is ) I was feeling very similar a couple weeks ago, so I took the boys to a park and took a gob-smack million photos of them!

I am the worst picture taker ever. I keep saying I am going to get better and take more, but I never seem to find the time. I really need to work on this.

I find that the older Cheyanne gets the less photos there are. This year (6th grade) most of them have been themed (bday, holidays) or sports. I really need to be a bit better about getting some generic photos from time to time.

I just recently realized the same thing about myself. I haven't taken hardly any new photos in the last year. I was transfering things to my new EHD and noticed it. I made a vow to take 10+ photos every single day from now on. LOL I'm already driving my family nuts haha!

Oh my goodness - I had the same moment this past week, too! I still have pictures on my camera from from Valentines day a year ago! I did decide, though, that it's because when I got my smart phone I stopped worrying about taking the camera with me because "I can just use my phone." .. Really, though, I need to get better!

Same here! I do get some from my iPhone but it isn't the same. My dslr is old and getting temperamental. Half the time it won't focus and there is no way I can autofocus my moving kids! I get frustrated using it so I don't even take it out of the bag anymore.

It's the same for me. I actually have been so overwhelmed with everything, that I don't even want to get my camera out of the bag. January & so far February are very scarce as far as just because photos.
Hopefully when things get settled it will be better.

I have difficulties taking pictures regularly! Hubby and I are alone with our three cats...every day is almost the same, LOL! Often I forget to take my camera if we are about to do something.

I hope things changes as soon as the baby is here....it will be supermodel from the start!

I've noticed I go through this every year in Jan & Feb. I think for me it's a combination of burn out from December Daily and it getting dark so much earlier. Now that it's light longer here again, I'm feeling more inspiration to take photos.

This is also why I never start P365, etc in Jan. I just know I wont keep up with it until after those first few months.

This is what I do too. In 30 minutes, I get actual scrapping material for like 20 generic layouts! Fun times!

Usually, January and February are quiet months here, photography-wise. After December, I don't feel like taking out the camera, and honestly, we don't do much with the winter weather.
