Default Mixed Emotions - But Mostly Excited!

For those of you that don't know, my parents have been living out of the country in Mexico since last February. I have missed them SO MUCH especially since my family had a really rough 2011 and I had a baby that they have never seen except in pics and on Skype. They were scheduled to be home in August.

Well, my sweet 93 year old grandma is starting to go downhill. Nothing crazy is going on with her, but she just really won't last for too much longer. She has been in the hospital since Monday with a bladder infection and some blood clots in her lungs.

So, my parents have decided to come home early in order to help my aunt and uncle in the care of my grandma. I know it's not the best circumstances. But, I am just SO excited that they are coming home! They should be back by next Monday or Tuesday!!!

So, I'm doing the happy dance at the same time as I'm worrying about and sending prayers up for my grandma. My grandpa died when he was 28, so they have been apart for a very long time. As much as we will miss her when she goes, I can only imagine how wonderful that reunion will be.

Just needed to share my news. Thanks for listening.

Aw, I'm excited for you! I only live an hour away from my parents, and couldn't imagine not being able to see them for a year.

I bet it's exciting for you for them to come home. I haven't seen my parents for two years and I really miss them. I'll certainly pray for your grandma.

She remarried twice. The first remarriage was when my mom was in high school. I don't know a better way to say it than to say that it was a "stupid" marriage, and it didn't last long. The second remarriage, she was 80. She nursed her husband for about two years until he died. So, for a woman who has been married three times, she really has never experienced a normal marriage, and really was single for most of her life, especially since my grandpa was gone to WWII for part of the time they were married. She has had an interesting life, and she's an amazing woman.

I did a post on the blog about her back in October: https://www.sweetshoppedesigns.com/i...oday-and-lotw/

The world will lose a really special lady when she moves on.

Thank you for sharing the story about your grandma! Loved reading about her. Reminds me about my grandma who passed away around that age.

What a bittersweet emotion for you to have your parents back and the reason for their return! I guess I can't complain about my parents moving away from me. They used to live 1 mile from me for last 12 yrs and now moved 18 miles from me!

Aww, how sweet that reunion will be!

I remember when we were stationed in North Carolina, my parents had never met our son until he was almost 2yo, when we transferred back to California. We transferred again, but was lucky enough to still be 'close' to 'home'... less than 3 hours away. Wish it was closer but I suppose it's better than further.

Enjoy your reunion and prayers for your grandma!
