Default Morning routines?

Every morning, I get up, start my coffee, and get in the shower. After my shower, I get on FB and the forums while I drink my first cup of coffee (with hazelnut creamer )

After that, it's a free for all. LOL! I try to start laundry after I have that caffeine, but it doesn't always happen.

Anyway, I can't get into FB this morning and my whole routine is off.
My account is down for maintenance. Haha, I've watched The Social Network. This is not supposed to happen!

My morning routine is so blah. If I"m leaving for work when I take Hannah I start getting showered and dressed first thing and then I start my routine. If I'm working from home or going after I take Kaite then I get dressed after I take Hannah to school.

I get up and get the laundry going. Load the dishwasher if I didn't do it the night before. Pack lunches. Work e-mail check. Get Hannah up, dressed, medicated, fed and to school via the drop off line. Come back, Facebook, work e-mail, get dressed. Take Katie to the bus stop and then come home and work or go to work.

I guess there will be variety this summer when I'm dropping them off at the Y each day. I wonder how that is going to go on the days I'm working from home. LOL...we'll probably get there at like noon.

I get up when the 1st rat gets up, then I make a cup of coffee. Take the dog out, come back in and get said rat a drink, THEN I go sit and check in on fb and here (only forum I check in the am) and drink my coffee. The girls I babysit get here about 730 so after that it's doing chores around here and being their slave lol

I get up, pack lunches, make my coffee, start a load of laundry, see everyone off to school, make some breakfast & eat it while reading blogs, facebook, the news and here. Then I get dressed, rotate the wash and then head out to the gym or the grocery store or both, depending on the day.

Until tomorrow, when school is out and no longer have to pack lunches and will be staying home more often because dragging unwilling children to the gym & on errands is no fun so I get it all over with on two days instead of 4.

Mine kind of goes like this:

Boys come in our room and climb in bed with us and we cuddle for a bit
I get up to pee
Throw on some clothes
Head to the kitchen for breakfast (PB cheerios/skim milk)
Yell at kids to get dressed
Head back to the bedroom and make bed
Make youngest DS's bed
Yell at older kids to make their beds
Sit on bed and fold any left over laundry for the day before
Put said laundry away
Yell at kids to make their beds
Gather the days laundry and get it sorted
Yell at kids to brush their teeth
Wipe down kitchen table and sweep floor
Head down stairs to put first load of laundry in
Yell at kids to get their shoes on
Dress the 2 youngest kids
Check what is for lunch for the school aged kids
Get the kids on the bus
Finally sit down and open computer and check mail, FB and forums

This is usually all done between the hours of 7 to 8:20AM!!!

Kick DH awake when his alarm goes off, go back to sleep for 90 minutes, wake up, catch up on emails, check FB via my phone, check instagram, play a few rounds of angry birds. Get up, work for a few minutes and start eating breakfast, workout, shower, get a load of laundry going, then go back to work.

Mornings are crazy here, mostly because the kids stall too much.
7 am-Dan leaves for work. I get out of bed, wash up, etc
7:15 wake Jason, tell him to get dressed (3x). (Ben has already been up for 2 hrs, so he's been in and out of our room and his own during that time) Help B in the bathroom and dressing
7:30 Make breakfast for the kids, pack J's lunch. Wake and dress Lauren.
8 Remind Jason/help Ben get ready to leave (tooth brushing, shoes, bags)
8:15 Drive the boys to school
8:35 Home again. I eat breakfast, shower, and dress while L watches a video
9 Varies by day of the week. Some days it's off to Lauren's school or an activity, other days we're home and I clean the kitchen and do laundry while she plays. I don't usually get on the computer at all in the am, but today I had to check a class time and couldn't resist popping in here.

Next year is going to be really crazy-the kids will be in 3 different schools with 3 different start times. The earliest school will start 20 minutes earlier than this year, and we've had plenty trouble getting out the door at this year's time.

Love your yelling routine Elizabeth. Sounds like me when school is in. I'm starting a new routine now that school is out and it begins with walking for an hour before the kids are up. I had a great walk this morning. After that . . . well, I'm not sure yet. We're still figuring things out. But for sure it includes checking the SSD forums and FB. Even if it's just from my phone.

Wake up at 5 am
Fill big mug with ice water
Work
6:30 - Drag Cheyanne out of bed because her alarm has been going off for 10 minutes and she hasn't moved. Eat bowl of homemade granola with almond milk.
Work while Cheyanne gets her breakfast, packs her lunch, and gets ready for school.
7:50 - Take Cheyanne to school
8:10 - Work until noon then have lunch and shower and work some more.

I don't really have a normal routine. Sleep as long as I possibly can. Get woken up by one of the boys. Feed one or both of the boys. Play on computer. Sit around and waste a few hours doing nothing while I should be doing something. Oh gosh = it's noon and I haven't showered?? Guess it's time to jump in the shower. LOL - that's basically how my mornings roll now that school is out! LOL I know it is going to change once we figure out our 2012 Summer of Fun but for right now I am going to enjoy it! LOL

We started our summer schedule today. Last week was a free for all and when I got on the computer first thing in the a.m. I got NOTHING done all day.

So now I do my workout, shower & get ready all before Luke gets up. Once he's up we have breakfast and a quick clean/pick up of the house (dishes, clutter from the night before, etc.) Then he gets dressed.

Then from 9- 10:30 we have work time. I bought him a BrainQuest workbook. He works on at least two activities from that (today he's on his sixth! lol) and does some silent reading. I will either read or do scrapbooking for CT stuff.

Then from 10:30 until about 1 we have errands/camps/swimming lessons, etc. If we don't have anything to do, it's outside time- park, hike, etc.

1:00 is lunch. Then we do chores before Joel gets home. A different big chore each day- laundry, dishes, vacuuming every day. Whatever time is left is free time.

I feel like a slave driver after writing that all out, but we're both MUCH happier on this schedule!!!

I get up when the kids do, turn on the TV for them, go back to bed and try to wake up. Then I read my daily devotional on YouVersion on my phone. I get up, get dressed, collect trash out of the bedroom, return overnight water cups to the kitchen, throw laundry in the laundry room, head to the kitchen to make the kids breakfast, start the Keurig for my morning coffee or tea, eat a muffin or apple and peanut butter, do the dishes, start a load of laundry, and then take the rest of the day as it comes.

Hmmmm...hear alarm. hit snooze. decide i actually should get up. grab kindle off nightstand and read for a few mins to wake up or go on FB on it. When I'm awake enough, I go potty and brush my teeth. Then come downstairs and grab a big glass of water and go online to forums and email to do a quick check, then log into work. When the kids start waking up, I make breakfast.

My new morning routine is terribly boring.

6:45 am - turn alarm off
7:00 am - vault out of bed, pee, shower
7:10 am - do makeup & hair
7:20 am - dress, close bedroom door to keep dog in, go downstairs
7:25 am - pack lunch, put on shoes, get out ID & keys
7:35 am - leave for work
7:55 am - arrive at work
8:00 am - start working

DH and DD are still asleep when I leave. Their morning routine is a lot more fun since DH doesn't usually go into work until 11 or 11:30 am: sleeping in, watching PBS cartoons, watering flowers and tomatoes/playing outside, and stopping by the ILs' to drop off DD and for DH to get a cup of 'good' coffee before work.

My kids are dwaddlers!!! I gotta keep on those little punks or we'd never get them off to school!!!

This fall I will have 4 kids to get ready and out the door to school in the morning!!! DD #1 on the bus at 7AM. DD #2 and DS #1 on the bus at 8:20AM. DS #2 to preschool at 8:45 AM!!! Then the year after that all 5 kids will have to be ready and out the door by those times!!! Double

Get up at 7.30 - 7.45 (in the last case, I'm late)
both kids are usually awake by then. I take DS downstairs while DD dresses herself upstairs. DH hits the shower.
I make coffee, then change diaper and dress DS.
8.05 we all have breakfast and I make lunch packs.
8.30 I comb DD's hair, wash DS's face, we search for shoes and coats and DH takes off to bring the kids to school and go to work.
Then I turn on my PC and I try to wake up, checking my email and favorite boards while drinking at least 2 cups of coffee. And while enjoying the silence!
Sometimes I scrap a page at that time.
When I feel awake enough, I shower and get dressed and I start household chores.

During the school year:
alarm goes off at 6:20 and I hit snooze. At 6:30 I call the kids. One or both of them comes in to snuggle. I hit snooze again at 6:40 and 6:50. At 7:00 its time to get up. If both kids are in bed with me at that point its much easier because I know they are awake enough to get dressed. If not it is usually DS who isn't and he's a log in the morning. I dress him while he halfway sleeps, throw on some clothes myself and head downstairs. By this time its usually 7:10. We have a quick breakfast (instant oatmeal, poptarts, scrambled eggs, etc.), brush teeth and grab our stuff. We head out the door at 7:30 to go to the school where I work. My kids catch the bus from there and go to their respective schools. Next year they want me to go in early (be there at 7:15 when I don't *have* to be there now until 8:00) to do bus duty in the morning. That would change things somewhat. Basically though, I do as much as possible at night (shower, lay out clothes, fix lunches, etc.) so that I can sleep longer in the morning. I'm not a morning person and neither are the kids. Having three people stumbling around half awake isn't pretty so we do everything to make sure we don't have a lot to do in the morning.

Now... summer...

Wake up whenever I wake up. I TRY to wake up when the kids get up but they haven't been telling me they are awake and I don't hear them getting up. I sleep pretty light all night and can hear them rolling around in their beds but by morning I've drifted into a heavier sleep and don't hear much. If they don't tell me they are awake then I never know because the living room is downstairs and across the house from our bedrooms. When I get up I usually grab something to drink, take some headache medication (I always have a headache, it never goes away, just gets worse at night) and say good morning to the kids. They are usually playing Wii or watching cartoons. If I'm still tired I sit down on the couch or in the recliner and doze for a while longer. If I'm pretty awake I'll check my email and get my day started.

Mine is usually something like...
hit snooze on my alarm several times. Get up
Get clothes for kids and for me. Start trying to get J up
Talk to my dad
Get Abby up
Tell abby to get dressed
get dressed
get j up again
try to get him dressed
wake abby up again and tell her to get dressed
wake j up for the 3rd time and physically dress him myself
get abby moving
get them both in car and out the door to school/mom's
go to work
