Mac OS Sequoia - Photos

Has anyone else upgraded to Mac OS Sequoia and had a hard time opening their Photos app? Mine just says 'Updating library' and is sitting at 0% complete for hours.

My photos library is on an external drive that is formatted for Mac Os Extended (Journaled), from what I've read it can cause problems if it's not formatted right, but that format should be ok.

Just wondering if anyone else has had a problem?
