I draw the line at sand in my house. Play-doh is one thing but when DS #2 put it on his Xmas list I crossed it right out. LOL! Hey, I never said I was a NICE mom!

My son has Moonsand that he got for Christmas and he doesn't like to play with it at all. And the stuff is expensive for what you get. I wish he'd play with it just so it didn't feel like a waste. But who am I kidding... he's had it since Dec and played with it once.

Ugh! MOON SAND SUCKS! Cameron got it for xmas a couple years ago and I have since banned it from our house. But sometimes I'll let him play with it outside on the patio table. But yeah. That stuff sucks.

Glad for the head's up so that I never buy this stuff! I was NOT happy when my kids got Play-Doh for Christmas. I didn't open it ... my husband is. Let the curse be on HIS head when he gets to clean it out of the carpeting (because the idiot who floored this house put CARPETING in the dining room and we can't afford to rip it out right now)!

That Floam stuff is crap too. My kids had it and the poor dog sat in it and had a green butt for awhile. It was stuck there and we couldn't get it off!!! Threw it all away!

ROFL! You made me snort my tea. (and I'm sitting in a coffee shop, how embarrassing!) Poor dog!

I detest Moon Sand, too. Here's a tip: If you leave the lid up a little bit, the sand dries out and it is no fun to play with. Darn! just have to throw it away.

Thankful ds hasn't discovered Moonsand yet. He wouldn't know about Playdoh either except one of his friends gave them away as party favors - doah!

That damn fat man Santa brought us some for Christmas and I refused to let my kids play with it until it warmed up enough to play on our deck with it....I had heard the horror stories and I am glad I made them wait. Now as it slowly falls through the cracks that's just a little less moon sand for next time **mmmmmmuuuuuuhhhhhhaaaaaa** cackled the evil mommy!!!

Funny thing about the Moonsand....

DS1 had heard me talking to DH about some commercial or other and I'd said it was all a bunch of lies & I explained to him that you can't believe what people say to you on TV. A couple of days later he saw a commercial for Moonsand and says to me "That's all a lie isn't it Mommy." and I said "you betcha!".

Now that we have the hardwood floors I don't mind the Playdough so much. I used to make them play with it on a big picnic table tablecloth.

Last year one of my friend's gave DS Moon Sand for his birthday. I was wondering if she hated me or something. He loved it. I made him play with it outside. And then he lost interest and I threw it all away heh heh heh.

I do let the kids play with Play-doh. in the house even.

Moon sand is the passive agressive gift - That you can NOT get out of the groves in your wooden table and for some reason the Dyson will NOT suck it up!!!
It is EVIL!!!!
What I keep telling my son ..... I don't know what happened to it Dylan, It was here last week......

good grief, a Dyson won't suck it up ?

Silly Putty was evil when I was a kid. Now personally, I loved the stuff. But my mother hated it; I left in a pocket once and she didn't notice it. And she washed and dried it. Enough said ,lol.

I know someone said they didn't like Floam, but we liked it! Until it got wet. Then it was a horrid disaster! I think as long as it doesnt get wet, it's pretty cool! LOL!

DD played with it once at a friends house while I was there talking to the mom. We spent like 20 minutes trying to clean up off their porch so I made a big mental note not to ever buy it!

I don't mind Play-Doh or Floam, but I let my kids play with Moonsand once in the house and it will never happen again. Moonsand is 1000x more evil than Playdoh.

Fortunately, when my dd got moonsand for her birthday, a friend strongly noted that it was an outside toy. So out moonsand bag says outside in our toy box. The girls like playing it on their picnic table, and since I HATE sandboxes, it is a great compromise! It is still pretty mess, but I just sweep it into the yard. I would not have been happy if I had let her play it inside.

As for Playdough, we have a plastic mat that covers a good part of our area rug, so I am kind of okay with playdough (long as I didn't just vacuum, of I don't have company coming). My mom said that the homemade playdough is much nicer, and doesn't get ground into carpets & clothes. Although I have yet to try it out.
