Default Tell me about Netflix...

I've never used it but am considering it at the moment because we live kind of far away from any rental place, and the Redbox that is 10 miles away is heavily used and always out of everything

I am interested in Netflix not so much for the mail in movies, but for the watching online kind....I'm an instant gratification kind of girl and Tabby's DF has an awesome large-screen computer monitor and kickbutt graphics card.

I am wanting to know if you have this and like it.

Their selection of online movies is pretty limited, imo. We've had netflix and love getting it. I don't watch movies on Netflix at all, but rather order TV shows to watch. Their selection of movies to rent is HUGE, but like I said, their watch-online selection is pretty small.

I have Netflix... love it! But the online selection si really bad. Lots of random (usually older) movies I've hardly even heard of before. My DH finds several he likes to watch online, but he's weird and likes random sci-fi movies. hehehhe

I love the mail service! Their shipping is quick.

We've been with Netflix for nearly 5 years now and I have nothing but good things to say about it...I do agree thought that the online selection is pretty limited but you can get the DVD's so quickly through the mail we don't even bother with the online stuff. I mail one back, get a reply THAT evening that they've received it and get a new within the next 2 days...they're so good too about letting you put your acct on hold and stuff..during the regular TV season we don't watch as many movies so we'll put it on hold a few months and then pick it back up during the summer. Great customer service too. I even accidently mailed them one of DS's Wiggle DVD's once and I got a nice email saying that I'd mailed the wrong one and they sent ours back...lol

I have never used Netflix, but if you're considering just renting movies online, there are other companies that do it, and have large selections...

You can rent movies through iTunes, I've also heard of others recently but can't remember the names of them, lol.

you can watch The Office online via Netflix.

I signed up for Netflix recently and I like it.

If you decide to try it, I suggest signing up via ebates.com b/c then you can earn an $18 rebate. Hmm, I don't know . . . maybe there are better Netflix deals?

i think movielink.com does online rentals. looks like they have some free ones to try . . .

Here's an article I just found about a few of them, comparing the services:

http://www.extremetech.com/article2/...2078459,00.asp

It's several "pages" long, you have to hit continue at the bottom of each page (took me forever to figure that part out, haha).

We have Netflix and I agree that the online selection is lame. We actually are thinking about stopping our membership because the movie we get always sits around forever with no one watching it. It just never seems to be the movie we are in the mood for and we end up getting a bunch at Blockbuster! But, Netflix is a really great service, and they do turn around the movies really fast (assuming you actually watch and return them )

We've had Netflix for about a year now and have really enjoyed it. We like to watch a lot of movies but don't get to go to the movie theatre a lot. I like that you can add movies to your saved queue before they are even out & then once they are released on DVD they automatically move to your regular queue. I like that I don't have to try to remember the names of different movies I want to see when they come out later! We get our movies really quickly too since we have a distribution center in our town. Only once have we had to wait for a movie to be sent from another distribution center & even that didn't take too long. Their online selection is pretty limited & I've never used it even once since we've had it. But I'm not big on watching movies on the computer though!

We subscribe to Rogers Video Direct and I think it's great getting movies in the mail, even though we have a movie rental place just down the street. I'll be canceling it by the end of August though because we can't afford the $20 a month.
