So yeah...the claws came out...
Have you ever scrapped something snarky?
I was feeling kind of sad last night and I let something slip that now today seeing it just makes me laugh. The 90 second backstory: I was married young, and for 6 years to my first husband, Nathan's dad. Although he cheated on me and left me for a teenager, we got through the divorce pretty unscathed. We are still very good friends. Occasionally though, my claws come out at his now wife. She's a great stepmom and overall very likeable...that's the hard part, LOL!. She's just a little immature and young! Like...she was in middle school when I had Nathan young. So I'm sad at our current situation of Nathan living with his dad. I know it is for the best...he loves his dad, he has a GOOD dad, and I don't want to drag him all over Heaven's creation with David's new job in the Army...nor do I want an icky court battle in order to do so. Nathan is also old enough to appreciate his friends and not wanting to leave them. well.......I'm scrapping my 28 truths page last night and I was feeling sad about Nathan which led me to feeling catty about Laura, his stepmom. (I had this moment of "hmmm I wonder if she feels like she has "won" ie playing house with my ex husband and MY child, kwim? b/c they don't have any...just a moment of she took my husband and now she took my child? Ugh.) So I write on one of my circles "I love gnomes". Which I do  Sorry to those of you who get freaked out by them LOL. And then on the very next circle I write "I hate flamingos". I don't hate flamingos. But Laura loves them. And I was just having a moment, kwim? She has the ugly sob's in her yard and in the kitchen...they are hideous. So yeah...talk about lashing out. I wonder if I'll look back at the layout in 10 years and think I was being stupid. I don't really care though Thanks for attending my midnight scrap therapy session. If you made it this far, you've got more patience than me

I think it's perfectly natural to feel that way. When I read it I just thought you liked gnomes and didn't like flamingos, lol ... it;s good to write stuff down sometimes

Lena -- in our situation, I am the stepmom but we don't have custody of my stepdaughter. But what you are feeling is completely normal!!! I know her mother does it and I do it too! If she likes something -- I HATE it! Of course it helps that her most recent addictions include ex cons! LMAO!

We all need to be snarky at times! LOL!!! I don't like them silly pink things either! LOL!! This one lady across the street from my mom's house has her WHOLE yard covered in them and even some HANGING from the trees!! I was like wth?! when we drove past!! Too much flamingo for me! LOL!

Aww! {{hugs}} We are all entitled to be like that at times! I am definitely like that with my crazy IL's all the time!!! You know, I refuse to watch Pierce Brosnan in anything because my MIL LOVES him and thinks he's the greatest thing since sliced bread.
PS: I loved your LO. I think I commented on it more than once! lol!

Ohhh gosh if that is bad you should see what I wrote for my page LOL. Last night must have been one of those nights and I crossed out several of the items I had written because I thought they might sound kinda itchy (my way of saying THAT word without having to actually say it LOL)
For instance after cleaning all day I had on mine"I am a neat freak but I live with four slobs" Now I love my kids and my husband and they do try to help BUT they just dont really care whether the books are in height order or if my cds are grouped by genre etc. I DO and I think if they touch something it should go back where it came from not wherever they get done with it or wherever they can find room. If it is a truth for you I wouldnt worry about it because we all have negatives and positives and for those who matter they will accept the negatives and love us anyhow:-)

Umm, I think you have every right to hate flamingos. lol But, I'm glad you can look at the whole situation through untainted glasses. I think the way you're handling everything is amazing Lena! To be able to give her the benefit of the doubt when it comes to being your son's step mother is SO gracious. You're a wonderful mom to do what's best for your son, even though it hurts!
I think your blurb is funny.

I'm that way, but I'm that way with Josh's exes. I'm SO stupid jealous over them. Three of his ex-girlfriends all worked for the same video game company as us and were fawned over by the entire male staff. I know, because I was "one of the guys" enough to HEAR about it all the freaking time!!! My ex-boyfriend was obsessed with one of Josh's ex-girlfriends, and dated another.
In fact, I was almost glad we didn't get to comic con this year because his ridiculously hot ex-girlfriend was there in a costume that would've made Elvira blush!!! The front was cut down past her belly button barely covering her perfect ta-tas. (Anyone who has had two kids know my ta-tas are far from perfect now) Not to mention she's 11 years younger than me, so I feel a little less than magnificent (or even FRESH!) next to her. Omg. I'm so glad I got that off my chest. Thanks, Lena!!

I don't blame you Lena!! Flamingos are weird and well, you could consider it a little code for actually saying you dislike her. LOL
And in ten years, you'll still be Nathan's mom. There is NO guarantee where she will be.

THAT, is hilarious. ROLFLOL I have girlfriends with such ugly divorces that I think it is great that you are taking it out on her flamingos and not on her. Who doesn't want to smash up a few plastic famingos now and then anyway!!!
