Default So I went shopping today...

and came home with bags full of pink stuff lol!!

It is AMAZING how much more cute girl stuff there is out there than boy stuff...

I also found the bassinet I wanted for 50 percent off! We're not going to fix up the nursery upstairs until DH gets home from deployment...which will be when the baby is about 6 mos old. She'll be in my room til then so it's kind of pointless for me to fix the nursery right now and waiting means he can be involved in that. So I was excited to find the one I wanted on sale.

I had a great baby shopping day!

One of my best friends is about 6 months along and they are having a girl! I've been getting awesome deals on little girls clothes for her! Just to let you know, our Kohl's had like 12 racks of 60-90% clearance in the baby department. You might want to check yours!

I didn't find out I was having a girl till she was born, so I didn't do much pre-shopping.... but when she was born, I was so excited! Of course, so was everyone else, and I have a full wardrobe until she's 2, lol!

YAY! Girl shopping is way too fun... I always buy more than I should! But I also love finding girly stuff in other colors... like bright blue or purple... luckily most people think she looks like a girl even if she's wearing blue so I don't have to worry about idiots asking if she's a boy even though it's a blue DRESS... lol!

I LOVE dressing my girls up! Old Navy has some really cute girls dresses right now! And my absolute favorite places to shop for my girls are TJ Maxx & Marshalls. You can get those adorable Ralph Lauren dresses for $15 all the time. AND REALLY cute Polly Flinders dresses with the matching doll dress for $10. Definitely the best deals out there besides consignment! Our Ross sometimes has good stuff. The one by my sister's house always has amazing stuff.

That sounds awesome Nikki! Now I don't know how the deployments work - will your dh be able to come home when the baby is born or will he not see her until she is 6 months old? I think it totally makes sense to keep her in your room until he's home full time, she will need her mama!

Well, since he's in Washington DC this time, we have it a little better.. he acutally will be able to come home either the end of this month/beginning of sept. for a short pass (2-3 days) and then he'll get a week (maybe more if he's allowed to take some of his personal leave) when the baby is born. (that means no Christmas leave though) He's an officer so he has a little more leeway with leave and stuff...my only worry is him not being here WHEN the baby is born. DS was 5 weeks early and I really don't want an early "surprise" b/c we have to schedule when he takes his leave kwim? My doc isn't crazy about inducing me but he said we would "talk about it" when the time got closer...but if I go into early labor again most likely I'll be giving birth alone.

Woohoo! Be careful with that girl shopping- it'll send you to the poor house! My daughter has SOOO many clothes! The week before she was born I was washing all her stuff and it looked like someone threw up Peptol-Bismol in my living room- too...much...pink! LMAO!!

I LOVE having girls! I'm always reminded how much boys get jipped when I have to shop for friends' kids. Sounds like you had a wonderful day.

Will DH get some leave or R&R when/after the baby is born? Maybe ya'll can go see him? Seattle is GORGEOUS!

There's so much more to get for girls - dresses, hair stuff, shoes, you name it, they got it! That's why the girls/womens section is always so much bigger. I was a rebel with DD1, I didn't like pink too much so I'd get purple. And wouldn't you know it, DD1's fave color is....PINK!

I love shopping for girls! Target has the best girl clothes, at amazing prices. I also tend to dress my girls a little bit more "trendy" than classic, so I love Children's Place and H&M. For example, I have a picture from when Kiki was 1 and Nat was 3...they are both wearing denim minis and polka dotted lace trimmed leggings....Natalie spent most of last school year in leggins and dresses. I am now drooling over the new leggings at GapKids, but I'll need to stop shopping here to buy them!!
