A VERY important question :)
So I was pondering this as I was making DS and I pb&j sandwiches for lunch and wondered if I'm just a weirdo.
When you make a pb&j do you a - put jelly on one side PB on the other or... b - mix the two together first and then spread away? I'm a mixer...I've done it that was since I was little. I mean sometimes I'd just mix the two in a bowl and not even bother with the bread lol...so am I the only one?

lol, we don't do a ton of jelly here -- none of our kiddos like it. But for me, I do pb on one side -- jelly on the other!

Haha, you are too cute. I guess I am lazy... I do option A.
Oh, I so miss PB+J!!! My youngest is allergic to peanuts! DH and I used to have toasted PB+J with choc millk on the days when we couldn't figure out what to eat for dinner! And of course, PB+J was the only kind my older son will eat! |

Ohhh I hate to have them mixed. I am weird with sandwiches though...I like more peanut butter then jelly and I dont like the jelly glopped on. I like it spread evenly all the way across the bread and I usually choose jam or preserves over jelly with raspberry and strawberry being my favorites:-)

Depends - if I make them at home for immediate consumption, it's pb on one side and jelly on the other. If I make them to take for lunch, I put a light spreading of pb on both sides and put jelly in the middle of them. The pb is like a coating that prevents the jelly from soaking into the bread and making it soggy.
Never heard of mixing them before. Seems like too much work to me. |

I can't remember the last time I made one, but I usually spread the PB and then just plop the jelly on top of it. I've never thought to combine them. I think they make a PB&J product now where is is swirled in.

aaahh, okay, the penny has dropped, I searched trough google
If I eat a Pb&j, which occurs less and less frequently, then both on one whitebread |

i do like Melissa described.
light layer on PB on both pieces of bread, then thin layer of jelly on one of the pieces. the idea of jelly directly on the bread kinda weirds me out.

If I have seperate containers, then each on their own side. However, lately, I buy the kind that's already mixed, so it's just straight out of the jar onto the bread. Much less work and less gloopy. Is gloopy a word?

my PB and J keep to their own sides of the bread. LOL

I put PB on one side, margarine on the other and the jelly in the middle. The margarine makes it sooo much better and the PB doesnt stick to the roof of your mouth as much. It's like lubing up your lunch.
Now I know this isnt the diet alternative - so that said, we dont have PB&J more than a couple of times a year when we get a craving for it. R

Maybe it is a southern thing. My grandma mixed it for us all the time and we loved it that way, but for some reason, we never did it that way ourselves! And still don't!
But I don't do it the first way either and my hubby thinks I'm weird. I put it all on the same side, just not premixed. PB and then jelly right on top. |

I put margarine or butter on one side and on the other it's peanut butter first and the jam spread on top of that, lol. Then I put the buttered side bread on top so the jam doesn't slop all over the plate, lol.

I do A. Just recently though, before that after I spread PB I'd add sugar instead of jelly. That's how mom made it for me. LOL

pb first, then j, on each piece of bread. the kids are lovin' grandma's homemade jam lately, so peach or strawberry (although they have asked for combo of both before).

Peanut butter on one side, jelly on the other.
Because half the time the child I am making the sandwich for will change his mind and say "no just jelly please" or "no just peanutbutter actually." :0 |

PB on both pieces of bread, jelly in the middle so it doesn't make for soggy bread.
And I'm also a fan of preserves instead of jelly. And I only eat strawberry. Grape grosses me out.

we do pb on one side and j on the other and then put the 2 pieces together...BUT DS likes his sandwiches folded over so he gets 1 piece of bread with PB 1st then jelly on top and then folded over!!! what's funny is he always has 2 of these when I could just make him 1 WHOLE sandwich, but he won;t eat the whole one...is kinda weird like that!

When I was a kid I would mix the PB&J and eat it on saltines. LOL!!!
Now the PB goes on one side and J on the other. Boring, I know. |

PB on one side, and jam on the other (not a jelly fan, esp the cheap grape stuff). I like Simply Fruit or something like it, with pieces of fruit in it. It's the only way I eat jam or the like...on biscuits and toast I use butter or, if we have it, spiced apple butter YUM.
Rambling done.
