Default I'm kinda new here and have???

Hi all, I've been watching this forum for a long time and just never had the courage to join in. I have been digital scrapping for almost 3 years. I love it.

Now for my question, I just got PSE 7.0 and I'm having trouble opening up some papers into it. Some of them open just fine, but papers that have a lot of detail on them I get an error message telling me I don't have enough RAM memory. Does anyone have a clue how to fix it?

Thanks, and I look forward to joining in alot more!!!

I'm really not sure...lots of the girls will be more knowledgable than me, but my guess is that you really do need more RAM. I know I did not too long ago...it can happen.

Hope you get some better advice!

Since you've been scrapping prior to now and seem to indicate that after PSE 7.0 you started having problems, I think it's hogging your RAM. Lots of programs are RAM hogs and perhaps looking into what programs are loading up when you start your computer will help. Depending on your operating system, it will vary on how to see your RAM usage. Once you see what is taking up your RAM, you may find that you need more RAM to do what you want to do. I started out scrapping with PSE 3.0 and a computer running Windows 95, and even though at the time it was a new computer, it did not have enough RAM to run graphics programs. I had to buy more RAM, which was pretty cheap for my computer. So, it is really either a problem with programs hogging the RAM or just not enough RAM installed for a graphics program. Hopefully it's an easy fix! Do you know how much RAM you have?

7.0 is a MAJOR ram hog... I only have 1 gig and it's sooooooo slow. I'm ordering more as soon as I get some $$$$$$$.

I Have barely enough ram to run the program. So as soon as I get some $$$$ as well, I will be upgrading mine as well. Thanks for all that replied. Hope to talk to you all soon again.

I just want to comment - in case you are like me and you scrap while you are online browsing LOL - firefox is kind of a resource hog on the computer, so you might try closing out any other programs you have running and just use PSE until you can get more RAM.

Welcome to the boards!
