Default Printing your LOs

I was wondering where everyone gets their LOs printed? If they have different options for paper, which one do you get?

I keep doing the LOs but have only printed out one album. I ended up doing an 8x8 album and just got it printed at Costco.

I have mine printed at a local printer here in town. He charges me only .45 cents for an 8x8 print on cardstock. I have mine printed on cardstock because that's what I'd scrap on if I paper scrapped. LOL

I'm interested to see the responses to this too.

I'm doing a program on digiscrapping to my women's church group and need to have some LO's printed before then but I'm not sure where's best to go.

I usually just do books now, but I used to get them printed 8x8 matte from scrapbookpictures.com. They had great quality and a flat shipping rate, plus they woudl run sales on 8x8 frequently.

I print my 8x8s at home. I got some 12x12s printed at www.scrapbooksplease.com and was VERY happy with how they turned out. I used the highest quality paper, so not sure how the others would turn out. They have sales pretty often (and that's the only time I order).

I've heard lots of good things about www.sbtoshare.com but haven't tried them yet.

So far, I have only printed at Costco. I like the matte finish... and only $2.99 each, ready in an hour... no complaints!

I have printed single sheets at Costco, My PicTales and Scrapping Simply. My PicTales is probably one of the cheaper options out there - 50 cents for 8x8 and $1.00 for 12x12; however, their process isn't a true photo printing process, so the prints are not as crisp and clear as a photo print is, and are a little bit grainy. Their paper was really nice and heavy though, and the graininess (?) on the photos wasn't as noticeable once I put them in album sheet protectors. But I think unless you're not picky, you would be able to notice that the photos aren't quite crisp.

I then tried Scrapping Simply, and was very happy with it. They are a photo lab and print on the Fuji Crystal Archive paper (my Costco prints were on the same paper). My 12x12s were just $1.99 each, but they also print 8x8 at $.99. They turned out perfectly. If I remember correctly, they had a standard shipping charge (like $5.00 or so), and I had my prints just a few days after I ordered.

I don't think I've ever heard anything bad about scrapbook pictures either.

I'm finding that the 12x12 albums get a little bulky (and I'm only on my second album), so I think I'm going to be looking at printing books instead. It seems like a number of people have had good success with Viovio, so I may try them.

I've done a lot at Costco (2 full 12x12 books full for my son's band...to stay at the school). I had the same layouts made into Shutterfly books for my son (I'm working on the next two years right now...a bit behind!) I won't use Costco for the school's next two books though. It is just way too expensive...especially now that I've tried My Pic Tales!!

I had a lot of 12x12 layouts printed at My Pic Tales last year because of an incredible coupon I had. I think they are amazing. I just opened up one of the books again to check the quality, and I am just as impressed as when I first got them in the mail! I haven't tried them since they changed it around a bit, but I think I'll give them another shot! I had a book started for both my sister in laws too of layouts of their kids. The weight of the paper is fabulous!

I'll still use Shutterfly for books...especially for my son's books for band. I started with them, so I'll finish with them. I've always used coupons too, and I have a few free books that I need to make.

I also made 8x8 books for all my family members of a book I put together featuring my parents. I had given them questions to answer. Some turned out pretty funny. I think I prefer the 8 1/2 x 11 books better though, and then have the 8x8 pages in them. I can see them better, and it just seems bigger!

I have a couple different books going on at the same time - so it depends on what the layout is for that I print it.

My regular family book layouts I print at Costco because I don't want to wait a year before I print them! I use regular 8x8 albums (post bound) and have recently gotten some of the Modern Binders but have yet to put my layouts in there.

For events that have a start/finish and I won't be adding anything else, I love Shutterfly - but have recently used Artscow. For the prices, it works for me

As far as single page prints, I have always loved Costco. I printed pages iwth MyPicTales last year and they were just AWFUL! I know a number of other people here had some issues with them... even some were shipped other people's pages. I was not at all impressed. I did a book through MPT as well and it printed so dark (it wasn't my monitor... I checked by printing elsewhere). If you are used to Costco prints (or most any photo processing lab) you WILL notice a difference when your prints are printed on cardstock (like MPT, Shutterfly books, etc.). They aren't as crisp and photos that wouldn't normally print grainy come out grainy. I am super picky about prints.

I have a book from Viovio. It's my favorite of all my bound books, but it's *still* not as perfect as my Costco prints. *sigh*

For my 12x12" books I printed at Kinkos because dh works at Sprint...and he got a discount card to use there...made it very reasonable. HOWEVER, they could not print edge to edge so my layouts were printed out (beautiful I might add) but I had to trim them (they were not straight or centered) and mount them to cardstock before putting in the album. Their paper was 12x18" so I printed a 11 3/4" square and two 5 3/4" square layouts on each one. I just bought a 13x19" Epson printer so I will be printing them at home! ...no more trimming and mounting on cardstock!

My 8x8" books and smaller are printed at home. I don't scrap in order for most books so I can't use the pre-printed books.
