I haven't been able to make from-scratch kinda pages in quite sometime and I feel like I'm losing my mojo so I've got this buttload of templates from various places. I totes feel that doesn't make me a scrap loser yet. LOL!!

I use templates alot. I have so many kits and so many pictures to scrap (and not a lot of time) - having the templates makes it go so much faster. I love picking out the papers and elements but not the design aspect so much so templates help.

I just recently went through like a 2 month period of only scraplifting or templates on nearly every LO. I have just started making my own design a couple of days ago. Its ok to do.

I no longer scrap without templates!! I figure if it helps to get my memories down and scrapped then there is nothing wrong with it At the end of the day as long as you like the page you make it doesn't matter how it started.

The nice thing with templates is they can always help with just a starting point, you can easily change them and move things around while you are doing the layout, you don't have to keep it exact.

Also you could try rearranging the template. They had a challenge like that on one of the designers blogs to show how one template could be so different with different scrappers. Try adding your own personal spin to the template. Or flipping/rotating the whole template somehow. It isnt exactly like you created the layout that way but it would make it different then what everyone else would have with the same template

I never used templates until a few months ago. Once I started to use them, I was hooked. It goes faster when I don't have time. Also, a pet peeve of mine is multiple photo pages, so I use templates a lot for them (birthdays, outings, etc.)

I would say, my ratio these days is 50-50, templates vs from scratch.

So don't feel bad. They are a great tool. I'm sure your mojo will come back.

I've been using templates some these days too. I have a HUGE backlog of pics to do from years of not scrapping at all so I'm trying to bust through those quickly. Templates help me do that more efficiently. And there are fantastic templates out there so why not use them?

I go back and forth. I love them and think they are a huge help if you need it, but I like to flip them or rearrange or something. mostly I just stick with my boring clustery little pages! lol

yeah so... since have my baby (2 1/2 months ago) I have pretty much only used templates. And still don't have much mojo so I will keep using templates to get pages done!!! love them!

i used to never use them. now, i love them. but i'm picky about them, lol. here lately i tend to go with the white space templates, or the ones with different squares for several patterned papers.

i also search the galleries a lot for inspiration or a complete lift of one that strikes my fancy. templates are great if you are in a slump!

I use templates all the time! Today, however, I only scrapped with one template and the other two pages I made were "technically" not templates...they were scraplifts or inspiration layouts. I love templates...without them I probably wouldn't hit 500 layouts in a year!

Actually my problem is I am not using them but have butt loads of them to use and keep saying to myself...I'm going to use them, but I end up not! Maybe my next LO I will! LOL!

I love using templates. Half the time I start with them, take something out, add my own thing here and there, and before you know it, I'm hardly using any of it at all, but it was such a huge help.

Another template lover here! This year has been a little dry for me, creatively, so the templates have been a HUGE help! In 30 years, when your grandchildren are looking at your layouts, they will never know that you didn't "design" the layout yourself. They'll just care that you put the memory down. That's really all that matters, right?

I use them all the time lately & sketches for inspiration. I usually never use the template strait out of the box, but I add, flip and smack it around to make it mine.

my favorite way to scrap is the "spin a lift way". I take a LO I love, a cookie or a template and I just flip it.......and it's like instant inspiration hits!!! I love it......it's like the best of both worlds!!!!!

I create very few "from scratch" LO's now adays!!!

I am in the same boat. I can't remember the last time I made a LO from scratch. Thank goodness for templates or I wouldn't be scrapping at all.
